Hate to say this. But Celtic are not a huge company. Any medium sized supermarket has a larger turnover than us. That's just one shop.

That's right they make it almost impossible for non EU players to play in their leagues, that's why at the last count there were probably only about several thousand of them.

Why are so many myths like this being perpetrated which are based on no facts and just hot air blown out for the sake of negativity

Seems like every debate is being cheapened by crybabies parroting what some roaster says on Twitter, the SNP or from Goldman Sachs about the sun will stop rising due to a referendum result that didn't suit their agenda.

The fact some people are using expressions like "worried" about a professional footballer losing a few thousand in the exchange rate when he is earning 200k a week makes me realise some simply have no grasp of reality let alone fact, are millionaires mercenary footballers salaries being protected really your concern, personally I couldn't give a * and would actually welcome salaries coming right down no matter how that came about.

This will have no effect on us at all, anyone that thinks different is deliberately being mischievous and need to stop sulking and spouting pish based on groundless speculation.

Several thousand non EU footballers playing in the UK, really seriously ?
I never realised, we as a club, had players on 200k a week either.
You are right though, there really are some roasters floating about.

That is very true, I also think it's a good thing as if it was an open house then there wouldn't be any Scottish talent getting a chance due to 7th rate non EU players saturating the league

I know that's not a fashionable view with the "no borders" mob and it's a topic that's been done to death but I want to see at least some young Scottish players get a genuine chance to make it and represent us rather than follow the Man City model of import players from all over the world for the 1st team whilst your academy produces loan players for other clubs to use.

Clearly you being one of them, either that or you deliberately acting thick.

I was referring to the point about Ibrahimovic who indeed earns 200k a week and I'm sure you know that

Again, look at the facts and the figures before regarding non EU players, you might be surprised by them but I doubt you would accept them in any case!!!!!

I put the link up just for information purposes.

I was asking a question. Now that the EU will be classified (I assume) like the now non-eu countries, then it means our ability to attract unknown European youngster on the cheap will become more difficult.

The rules have always been there, nothing knew - we know that, nobody is saying anything about that. However it will now influence Europeans, which shrinks our market even further.

Also, the non-eu player figure you gave out was incorrect - theres less than 120 in the EPL.

I wasn't referring to at this very minute in the Premier League but ones that have been registered, the figure I read was several thousand odd.

Point taken regarding the rules, problem is I fundamentally disagree on your assumption of EU players status in the future, I personally think that won't alter but that drags us into the wider debate of the EU referendum and its implications which I have no desire to go into in depth.

Only time can tell on what will play out regarding EU players status, any view yours or mine is only subjective at this stage.

I can actually remember going to France late in 2009 and the exchange rate was 1.07, so i dont think it will have any real effect.

I'd rather us being able to sign players like Ronaldinho and Ronaldo when they're still affordable. Think it's odd any Celtic fan would be against that.

Could indeed see this Brexit having some serious consequences for us. I don't think the pound will be so much of a long term problem, work permits however could potentially prevent us signing any (not top level) EU player which would be terrible.

It might not happen. Article 50 being activated. The tories, will be expected to call a General election after they have elected a leader. If they do, both Labour and Lib Dems will campaign on a stay in the EU policy, and between them win a majority of MP's and form a coalition government.

Then it'll be a UK problem, and not an EU one.

These rules will be exclusively down to our own UK Government though. If they so wish they could make it easier for clubs to attain work permits for footballers.

Us being out of the EU actually puts that decision back in the hands of our elected officials.
