The club needed something like this tbh. We just seemed to be mired in mediocrity and it looked like that was the way it was going to be for a while with the financial state of Scottish football being cited as one of the main reasons why we couldn't be ambitious.

This appointment brings back a proper feel of excitement to the club again and it should see the crowds rise again. Hopefully Rodgers lives up to the hype now but even if he doesn't then at least we've actually shown some ambition with this appointment.

Can't even, mate who is a Spivco fan and a Liverpool fanboy (weird mix) is giving big licks about how Brendan has spent £250m and 'trashed' Liverpool - the cheek. Not willing to accept Brendan was working under a transfer committee, Scottish football is on it's knees and embarressing how we think he can attract decent players because he's *.

The hurt is spewing from them. :56:

Klopp has done nothing more than what Rodgers has done. And he's been pish for a wee while now, lets not lie. :smiley-laughing002:

This is probably the pessimist in me but the first thing I notice there is the fact he only mentions next season and not "the coming years" "the future" etc.

I know, it's stupid and probably a petty thing to pick on, but I really hope he isn't just here for one year to kind of rubber-stamp his reputation before looking for a big job down south.

Hope he pushes us far away from the rest of the teams in the Premiership and, over time, get us competitive consistently in the CL.

Delighted to have Rodgers in and a big congratulations to the board for pulling it off, I just really hope he doesn't see this as a short-term role.

I just want the new season to start already :smiley-laughing002:
Cannot wait to see who we bring in, who we sell, how we set up, how we play, how the attendances change, how we get on in the qualifiers etc. So much to look forward to.

I really do have high hopes for us this year under Brendan. It really is such a big, big statement by us.

Klopp is all talk. He hasn't actually done that well with Liverpool so far. Let's see if he can get the as close to a title as Brendan did while he scoops a treble up here.

It's took the board to massively * up for years to finally do the right thing and get a high profile manager in. We should have done this when we replaced Lennon. Let's hope he is backed with money in this window.

Think this could be exciting times a head.

I wonder if, saying he does stay for three and we win another three titles, that the motivation to do 10IAR and really become a legend here would be tempting enough to keep him here for a bit longer.

Didn't renew my ticket last season. Just banged my name down, finally the club has shown ambition to match that of the supporters. Paradise will be bouncing next year.

They got rid of Rodgers too early, but they wanted to snap Klopp up when they had the chance. They were on fire that year they nearly won the title, and playing some good football in a league where it can be hard to be that way. Losing Suarez was a massive blow and that was mainly down to the English media hounding him out after the bite at the WC, Gerrard left and Sterling as well so he was significantly weakened. Transfer committee * him over as well, Liverpool fans seem to have turned on him which I find strange but that is the premiership way, change manager in any sign of trouble
