Thinking of pulling one tonight not really for revision but rather to get notes and stuff wrote up

Whats your experience of them do they work or do you like me end up just wasting time on Talk Celtic :smiley-laughing002:

I've only ever done a proper all nighter once and it was back in November, stayed up through the entire night without sleeping at all as I had an essay due the next day, and was in college for 9am. Also have done a good few exams with as little as an hour sleep which I wouldn't recommend.

Got the essay done and did well but that day in college was grim, constantly fighting the urge to stay awake is horrible. Think I was awake for about 34 hours straight altogether, then slept for about 14 hours, one of the best sleeps of my life.:smiley-laughing002:

I've done plenty. Gonna have to do one tomorrow I think for some last minute revision.

I find it helps with getting coursework done but I'm not sure about the night before exams to be honest, I usually need at least a few hours sleep:56:

Don't think I have ever gotten 8 hours before an exam :smiley-laughing002:. Definitely not in college anyway.

I am a * for leaving study to the last day or two before an exam and I usually leave myself in a position where I simply need to cram through the night. A proper 8 hours sleep is no use to me for an exam if I don't know what to write :smiley-laughing002:

I am delighted when I get 3 or 4 hours before an exam.

    I'm the same.

However it doesn't mean I'd recommend it to others:smiley-laughing002:

Haha true it's a terrible way to be. I envy people that are well prepared for exams well before the night before, and have normal sleeping patterns. Although I don't know many of them.

I don't know many like that either to be honest, although they could be lying to me and secretly sweating it at home for weeks on end, who knows:smiley-laughing002:

Thing that makes me worse is coursework. Knowing I have that to make up a percentage of my final mark makes me a bit lazy with class tests or yearly exams.

I always study last minute but I always get plenty of sleep before an exam :smiley-laughing002:

So counter productive to study through the night imo

When out one Saturday night not long ago, came home Sunday morning at 11:00am  Went to sleep. Woke up at about 8 that night. Couldn't sleep and stayed up for school Monday morning then had to go to work until 10pm straight after. Was * horrible, wouldn't suggest it.

It's not counter productive when it's the only study you do for that exam though :56:

Done it a few times when I had assignments due the next day. Think it worked out okay for the 1st one but then every time after that I'd spend half the night * about.

I also found that if I try to drink coffee to stay awake it just made me dead anxious, probably because I never really drink it that much otherwise.

    Only alcohol fueled ones.

Used to be a regular weekend thing when i was younger , wouldn't be fit for it now.

Never intend to do them but I'm always forced to do so once every few weeks just to reset my sleeping pattern. I find that drinking water regularly is better for all nighters, coffee is a depressant which will give you a short burst of energy but when it wears off you'll feel even more tired because of the shifts in energy levels from one extreme to the other.
