If you are relying on drugs at all for focus you have issues right off the bat.

You should try other methods of motivation which don't require chemicals to alter your brains natural function.

Well it is you though, all it does is focus you to allow you to study for longer with a bit more memory retention. It doesn't magically make you smarter. At the end of the day you still sit whatever exam you take and you pass.

I only read about it a few weeks ago, wish i knew of it 2 months ago when i sat my accounting exams, my performance in these exams can make me lose my job, so its very stressful on me and i need something to help me focus and take my mind off what could happen.

I do see what you mean about doing it without any help, in a perfect world i would try it too but im on my second chance! :56:

Wonder if it would help in a driving test?

Not sure to be honest, i think there are more variables in a driving test than me sitting down at a desk doing revision.

How much of it is motivation and how much of it is a placebo?

    I'd imagine a high percentage.

I will be taking it for 10 days, so ill report back at the end. I read up on it before getting it, lots of positive reviews but the one thing was long term use could be detrimental thats why i will only be using it for 10 days.

It mentioned it has none of the side effects of other 'stimulants' like crashes from caffeine or things like that. I read the focus for studies is simply another effect which wasn't necessarily intended.

There will be a portion being a placebo, because i want it to work so that inevitably will increase my motivation, whether its an effect of the drug itself or the placebo effect i don't know.

Placebo or not if it gives me the result i want then it will have been successful. In terms of the future i will obviously need to get my act together sooner for future tests, this is just a quick fix so to speak to get me over the line.

I've taken modafinil and armodafinil in an attempt to be more alert during the day and to try to regulate my sleep patterns. So I was taking zolpidem at night for a while and the other stuff in the morning. The modafinil/armodafinil made me feel a bit crazy sometimes, almost hyper and jittery. I was taking about 75 mg I think. Stopped taking it altogether, except when I'm traveling internationally to help me adjust to the time zone.

Haven't seen you on here in a long time .. Or maybe I'm just being dozy :smiley-laughing002:

    Welcome back anyway :icon_mrgreen:

On the subject of smart drugs, I haven't tried them and they don't particularly appeal to me to be honest.
