    Sorry can you explain mate?

Is this known in Ireland, has he personally been paid, has it been shared out?

No, people were aware of rumours a year ago.

    This is confirmation.

That's disgraceful. If I remember it rightly it was a difficult one for the refs to see as well.

Delaney looks like such a * after rejecting the Fair Play Award as well.

Celtic should have done this!! We could afford Messi after the * that happens to us!!:31:

FIFA gave the FAI €5m so that the FAI would not continue with a legal case against FIFA. At the time we were appealing to be a 33rd team at the finals or something along those lines.

People will say it's a bad decision (not to give a free for the hand ball) get over it, take the €5m and run. The way I see it is, FIFA were obviously afraid of the possible outcome of a legal case and decided thy should give us a pay off to be safe.

We accepted the pay off. Absolutely outrageous. It should have been all (Going to the finals) or nothing.

To think if the FAI revealed that FIFA tried to bribe them in 2010 we'd have Blatter and the corruption gone by now and no WC in Russia/Qatar.

Now we know that the SA bid was corrupt there is probably umpteen countries been bribed like this.

I hadn't heard any rumours before mate. You're right though.. Definitely something Delaney would and has done. Does not surprise me in the slightest.

Now that it has been confirmed,Delaney should be out the door asap.

There will be some very interesting stories come out of this Fifa scandal.

Won't be too many countries not involved.

I think one of the arguments at the time was that UEFA changed the rules mid competition by rigging the playoffs draw after all the teams had already been seeded when qualification began because FIFA were worried some big names might not make the finals including France.

The fact that FIFA actually paid Ireland off does also bring into question the integrity of the match officials who not only missed somehow Henry's beyond blatant handball but the entire sequence was offside by a mile as well before even the handball.

I'm not surprised with that * Delaney. I wonder where the 5 million went because it definitely didn't go to the LOI or improving grassroots football . It's probably in the * bank account.

It will likely be very difficult to trace considering the FAI are bound by confidentiality not to disclose the amount.
