He's not clearly a better player at all.

Forrest was getting raved about when he broke into the team, just the same as GMS is getting raved about now.

Just because Forrest's form has gone to * and GMS is the flavour of the month does not make GMS a better player.

Come back to me in 18 months and maybe, just maybe, I'll concede that he is clearly a better player.

18 months, it wont take till the end of the season to confirm it. Plus GMS will probably play more games between now and may than forrest will in 18 months.

You're making out as if Forrest is some Celtic legend.

Yes, Forrest has had more game time for Celtic and therefore may have contributed for in a shirt, but GMS is a better player. Anyone who says otherwise is completely deluded.

He's a far better player than Forrest in terms of ability in my opinion, and that's what people are comparing: their ability. If they were to compare their Celtic careers then of course Forrest would come out on top as he has achieved more here, it is impossible for GMS to have done more, but if you are comparing their ability then there is only one winner for me.

And obviously Forrest is the one who's brought up when talking about GMS because they are vying for the same role, a role that many have been dying for us to improve.

I agree with you somewhat, but Forrest has been poor for a while now. GMS has a ways to go to be considered as good as he is made out to be. Does no-one remember Guidetti's start? Look at him now, and look at how he is being referred to by fans on here.

i have never rated forrest . Used to think he was handy for stretching teams but recognised pretty early he didnt have the basic level of ability to be a consistent performer ( shooting , crossing , decision making ). His injuries have only compounded it . GMS has done far far more in the Scottish game than Forrest has , and has been an exciting player in this league for a sustained period . Is miles ahead .

If GMS was miles ahead he would have been at a better team than Forrest long before now.

    * help this bhoy if he goes off form because we'll turn on him just as quick as we start idolising him.

He is miles ahead of Forrest , and that says more about how bad Forrest is than it does about GMS . Gary is no world beater but has the right attributes to be a good celtic player . Forrest is an imposter who lacks the ability to do the simple things .

GMS is twice the player that Forrest is but Forrest is barely a shadow of what he was. Watched videos of him in the Sammy game and versus Rennes :54:. He could win games on his own then.

I was very critical of GMS but he is impressive. His skills videos don't show his hard-work which is a great thing about him.

I don't think Celtic fans rated Forrest as much as you're making out. I for one have never thought he was that good. I mean, he's alright. And always has been. But I've never thought he was anything special.

I'm probably included in this, so I should just say for myself that I've never rated Forrest *that* highly, my opinion of him hasn't changed a great deal in the last couple of years.

For me it's not a question of form either, even if GMS were to go on a bad run I would still believe he has more ability than Forrest. You don't have to watch a player for a whole season to recognise their ability.
