Really enjoyed it. Felt it needed to go back to basics after the mess of the last 3.

I didn't mind The Phantom Menace and thought Revenge of the Sith was decent

I enjoyed the phantom menace apart from the poorly forced humour from the jar jar bits.

Enjoyed it, although I don't know how
Rey could have beaten Kylo Ren when she has had zero training. In my opinion they should have written it so Kylo beat Rey then the earth splits underneath them giving time for Rey to escape, I know Kylo is still an apprentice but it shouldn't have been a contest even finn was able to put up bit of a fight which didn't make sense.

Still, you think a guy with years of jedi (the guy was trained by luke Skywalker ffs) and sith training would be able to at the least kill Finn right away rather than having a fight with him. I just don't see how a normal guy and Rey who just learned of their force powers would be able to beat someone that powerful regardless if he was injured or not.

Just saw it Saturday. A for execution, F for originality. It was a plot-point-for-plot-point rehash of A New Hope. I desperately hope Abrams takes it in a different direction, because there's no point in making Original Trilogy 2.0.

Aye Finn should have been wrecked straight away perhaps but Kylo did nearly kill him and he had just been shot.

Rey I don't have a problem with. In terms of fighting him, she's has plenty of experience with combat and the fact she is likely Luke's daughter would tell me that she is extremely powerful with the force.

One thing I didn't understand is how Rey knew she could use the force to make people do what she wanted, she didn't even know the force existed until a few hours before that and then she suddenly knows all about it?

Aye that's a fair point. Maybe because Kylo tried to do it to her just before when she resisted, she thought that maybe she could do it to someone else?

Rey used to attend the Jedi Academy as a little kid and learnt how to use the force there. Even though she probably has completely forgotten about it, her subconscious surely remembers it.

    Exactly this.

The big drama was that the new death star was 10 times bigger.

    Rey is lovely however.

I enjoyed it wasn't happy about you know who gettting the chop, but guess something like that was going to happen.

On another note, outwith the actual film, Chewbacca has been bumped off in the books.

    Finally saw it last night.

Really really enjoyed it. Think all the Rey stuff was a bit too convenient but i'm sure that will be explained more in depth in the next film.
Also going back to Kylo Ren. He was partially trained by Luke, a 'Jedi' who never completed his own training and being the only one left in existence called himself a Jedi Master in ROTJ.
He's a fraud. I wish that the films would address this fact - Luke is not a Jedi.
That's like me calling myself a Ninja after two months of training because all the other Ninjas are dead....

Anyway i think Rey is his daughter who he took to Jakku when Ren went rogue and started killing Luke's apprentices.
I hope she is not his daughter or Obi Wan's granddaughter as i don't think everyone has to be * related for us to invest in the story - including R2 and C3PO in the prequels for fan service was the dumbest of many dumb mistakes.
And i fear that by every main character being intertwined may go down this route.

Saw it at an imax cinema the other day. Unreal experience. Do they have imax cinemas in the UK?
