That takes some balls to do that in a final :smiley-laughing002:

I said to my mate I had a feeling Chile would win it before the tournament started, wish I'd put a bit of money on them. They must have been good odds considering they've never won it before.

I don't like the way Argentina approaches finals. 2nd final game within a year and they have been way too passive again.

    Glad Chile won.

I hate how English coverage of these games always devolves into criticism of the losing team.

and you have to listen to * nobodies questioning Lionel Messi.

Chile are a superb team with a great manager. Well done to them

Im on the American TV coverage with that Geordie lad as co-commentator. In the studio it was Richard Keys, Andy Gray (we'll forget about him), Guud Guilit and Christian Vieri.

Aye the bein sports one. I've been watching them all through the tournament, but It kept crashing on me tonight for some reason so I ended up on the premier sports one.

I like the american and that geordie nutter, At least they enjoy what they're watching.

Chile were tremendous last night. Never going to let Argentina.

Thought they controlled the game throughout, dominated the midfield(looked like 3-5-2 from Chile)Mascherano aside, Argentina never had another player willing to compete the way Medel and Vidal(arguably the whole team). Martino never tried to alter that.

Rojo had a nightmare at left back, Pastore floated about and offered little and Aguero done loads of running after lost causes. The wee man took some punishment all night. Any sign he was going to do damage, he was faced with gang tackling or brought to a halt in some manner. The one occasion he was afforded the time and space, resulted in a poor miss by Higuain. Stuck away his penalty and done what he could, let down by those around him yet again.

Higuain had one of the worst sub apperances I've witnessed. Sloppy passes, lazy offsides and poor decisions. For a guy who does score goals, the last minute chance he should have buried. Guaranteed the ball from Lavezzi wasn't perfect but still think he should have buried it. His penalty summed up his night .

On the subject of penalties, Matias Fernandez, Messi and Alexis Sanchez all executed impressively with 3 different penalties, under high pressure. Romero was close to the other 2 penalties of Chile, arguably should have stopped at least one(Vidal I think it was).

Chile well worthy of winning the tournament.

I can't make my mind up about Higuain. His scoring record is fantastic but I feel like every time I watch him he's terrible. Particularly for Argentina.

Bottled it in the World Cup final, then that last night.
