    Anybody use one of these?

I'm looking to get one, or a decent alternative for streaming my tablet and/or phone on to the telly - both android.

    Any suggestions?

Don't think it's like the android box, chromecast sends stuff from your device to the tv, them boxes do it all itself I'm sure.

I have one, it's ok for the price, I only use it for sending streams and youtube videos to my telly from my tablet so can't tell you much. Works perfectly fine with the youtube app on my phone. My tablet has windows on it so I don't use it with apps much so can't say how good/bad it is with them.

    Just read about it.

Sounds like it does the exact same as an HDMI cable.

Not really, for example you can pick a video on youtube app on your phone and send it to the tv, then you're free to use your phone for whatever else you wanna do all whilst not having to sit 5 feet from the telly.

I use it for the BT sport and not much else.

The app needs to be supported by Chromecast. You can't just use it with any old one.
