As far as I'm concerned you can't say one is better than the other. O'Neil took a team that was going nowhere and gained respect for them on the European stage.
WGS is rebuilding the side on a much smaller budget and has taken us to the last 16 of the Champs League.
We should feel honoured to have both at the club.

one way to look at it - who's had the harder job,
who inherited an aging team on mega bucks contracts whilst being given buttons to spend?

who had the funds to spend about 15million on 3 players?

    Mon done a good job
strach is going a great job.

financially strach is doing an AMAZING job, were mon was only good at spending money.

strach is getting us to the last 16, which is were the big boys are and were the money is.

the more money the more celtic grow the bigger celtic becomes the better.
who's done a better job? silly question imo.

    MARTIN O'neil.

    just joking.

strach's doing a much better job

Martin turned us around back into a respected european team again, wgs has followed on from that, taking us higher in a shorter space of time. Both should be appreciated for their contributions to the celtic. Hail Hail for tomorrow!

its a bit of a pointless comparison but I am glad that, at last, WGS is appreciated by the vast majority. I think he is one of the very best in the UK and arguably the best British born current manager after Fergie. I doubt there is any other manager who could have pulled off our European success on what is by CL standards a very small budget. WGS is a world class manager and I can see him being headhunted by top EPL clubs, especially those who got their fingers burnt using foreign managers. I also reckon he would be no. 1 candidate for the Scotland job but I dont think he would take it yet (maybe in 5 or 6 years).
