Ronny has gone out of his way to say how happy he is with the bord and with Lawwell. He even said that Lawwell is sometimes more on the forefoot than he is. I know everyone wants the board to spend big money, but we're not really in a position to do that over time. Ronny was hired precisely because he is someone who can create great players instead of relying on signing them - and is happy to do so.

 

Of course he likes Lawwell he is earning more money than he ever did in his life. He also agreed to take the job on the condition of having no money to spend so he can hardly complain now.

Lawwell is shrewd as *. If Lenny won a treble or two and kept qualifying then Lawwells position would have been threatened as Lenny could have made demands.

The same will happen with Ronny if he gets too popular. In fact within 4 years i expect us to have a new man in the dugout no matter what happens in between.

No but another year or two of success and he would have been untouchable meaning he could have demanded more money etc and him walking could have been mutiny in the stands

The interview is all fine, as always, but I'm sure Ronny/everybody is aware of this potential problem/issue: If VVD/Celtic is offered a lucrative deal, both financially and footballwise, then at least VVD could be tempted to hand in a transfer request. If the player's mind is somewhere else, I don't think Ronny would block it. But I hope to * it will never happen,
but I will not feel safe before end of the summer transfer window.
I think VVD is vital for us, losing both him and Denayer is almost Beyond what Ronny can handle, me thinks.
