:smiley-laughing002: You're honestly * boring. Don't even think that can be true anyway, hardly anyone attends Celtic matches anymore, do you?

Away games just. Dunno what relevance that has though. Trying to discredit me or what? :97:

I'm taking a wild stab in the dark (just like you are) and saying that some people go to certain Celtic games intent on causing bother.

You continue to dance round my point though :50:

    :smiley-laughing002: That may be true.

I never said anywhere they should be banned, just that I didn't see the need for them and they maybe attract some people who are there for the wrong reasons. Also that everybody was free to honour who they liked but that shouldn't encroach on other people's lives. That applies to all these types of things though, i'm not just targeting this one in particular as i'm pretty sure I said in the first place.

I was just meaning that last part as a general response to whagever has been said throughout this thread.

In what way do you mean by encroaching on other people's lives?

Well parades are obviously carried out in public which can cause disruption to other people's lives and some people may have to have people marching round about them that don't particularly want that. Whether or not they are restricted to certain areas there will more than likely in every area be people around that don't want the bother.

The traffic from Celtic games causes disruption to people's lives, and im sure the huns in the surrounding area do not wish to have thousands of celtic fans "marching" past them, do you also feel there is no need to Celtic games since both examples are relevant to your statement above?

I don't really see how a Celtic game and a parade remembering Irish hunger strikers can be compared to be honest.

Exactly how I see it :50:

Shouldn't ban marches, just tell people if they want to march around then do it up a hill where they aren't getting in anyone's way. Fresh air, plenty of room, and nice scenery for the marchers. No disruption, no trouble, and peace and quiet for the rest of us. Makes perfect sense to me.

People travelling to get somewhere is an inevitable inconvenience. Until we invent human transporters that beam us up to a particular location, roads will always be busy getting into work in the morning, and when going to watch sporting events. This is tolerated because it is the only way people can get from A to B. Marches are not based on a necessity to get from A to B - they are people walking around in circles for no other purpose than bringing attention to themselves.

The attraction for going up the hills would then be ruined not to mention the mess created, so you can * off with that suggestion :icon_mrgreen:

Parades are *, whether they be republican or loyalist. Ugly * humphing themselves along playing * music.

Just have a pint in a pub and sing some songs :50:

Should have said, it would only apply to empty spaces where there aren't any people, and they would have to clean up after themselves or they wouldn't be allowed to come back next year :icon_mrgreen:

Does Provisional Sinn Fein also hijack the commemorations in Scotland?

Easter parades are primarily for the leaders, men and women of the easter rising. Then it is secondly for all people that have died for the cause of Irish freedom, not the hungerstrikers
