Hasn't officially been renewed but would expect it to be, wonder who will be the replacements for McConaughey and Harrelson in series 2 ?

Is anyone watching this one episode at a time week by week as it's shown on UK tv on a Saturday or just watching it online to catch up with the US version.

I'm recording them as there shown in the UK and going to wait till the 8 episodes are finished and watch them all at once on the big telly. But so tempted to just watch them the now online on the small * laptop:56:

Sometimes when you watch them right after each other it can sometimes lose its impact. I think the majority of series are designed to be drawn out over their 3-4 months to amplify the suspense and maximise the cliffhangers.

Aye agree. Think there only been two shown in the UK so far, I'll watch them later then go week by week. Really itching to see this.

It's an anthology, new characters, new story every season! Rust Cohle is a hero, will miss his face!

The premise of the show is that every series deals with a case set in a different state/city dealt with different detectives. So Cohle and Hart are only in one series.

Ends tomorrow. So sad. :54: Hopefully the storytelling/cast are just as good next year. At least they've introduced me to this band though:

Ah, that must be hard. I definitely think the suspense is well served by having to wait a week between episodes and it's also the kind of show that's best watched on TV with the lights off. Resist the urge. :50:

I saw the last episode tonight. My lips are sealed, but the Steven Seagal fighting scene with three lesbian nuns armed with katanas was quite a surprise.

That finale was breathtaking. This is up there with the best shows ever made, absolutely fantastic from start to finish. Every episode is a 9/10 - at least. The two lead actors were brilliant, particularly McConaughey. Surely he'll win an Emmy for it.

Season 2 will have a near impossible task of bettering this season, I pray that it delivers.

    Amazing.

I thought the last episode was pretty * tbh. The first 7 were quality and looked to be building up to a proper finale but fizzled out a bit and left a load of loose ends.

Oh well, still a quality series regardless.

I think it's kind of like Lost to be honest. People looking for an explanation for the sci-fi (Carcosa, the Yellow King, etc.) aspect will be disappointed. But at its heart it's a character study, and I'm happy with how things ended with the two main characters. Rust has a sense of purpose in his life now and it's actually believable that he could come to that change in opinion. I loved it.
