I feel that the likes of McKay of ICT or Johnny Russell would have been every bit as good as Pukki, Bangura etc for starters however, the foreign players we've brought in have been a success as well. There for, I think we should bring in the best of both worlds.

In your quotes of my post I literally almost say that word for word... Thanks for agreeing with me.

At no point did I mention nationality.

So you'd like to see a Celtic team with no Scots in it?

Presumably you'd be quite okay with a Celtic team full of Irishmen though??

We should buy/develop the best we can afford/attract to the club , pretty simple really. 11 etc home grown players will never happen again. HH

No. I would love the team to be made up of Scots who consider themselves that, not British. It's difficult to find true Scots too:54:

A team of Irishmen equally would be perfect given it is an Irish club.

If Naylor and Pressley were in their prime then yes.

    No, it isn't.

It really gets on my nerves when people attempt to 'lay claim' to Celtic. Celtic is not just an Irish club. It's not just a Scottish club either. The club belongs to all of us, both Scots and Irish. It is the club's dual identity that sets it apart and makes it special.

As far as I am concerned when we buy players I could care less where they come from as long as they play well at least and even better if they take the club to heart.

Stop it now , you run the risk of "common sense" breaking out. :50:

Players of the Celtic Nations and Anglo Saxons from down south as well as their cousins from Germany.

Players from all over Europe and the other continents.

If someone wants to play for Celtic who cares what part of the world they come from.

We should sign the best available, simple as that really.

I still think a bit of nativity still exists however regarding favouring johnny foreigner over domestic talent. Over the last few years we could have picked up guys like james McCarthy and johnny Russell for not much at all but yet we want to spend cash on guys like balde and bangura who have hardly kicked a ball. Sometimes we do seem to go for the foreign name

I couldn't care less as long as they are good

Santa Cruz would be a great signing, though.

Me personally, i prefer players who are used to playing UK based football, and then adding players from abroad who fit this style, with 2 or 3 who offer something a bit different.

Personally I prefer celtic to be made up of scottish/British/Irish players but cheap young foreigners seems to be the market we're in these days
