Recently it has become apparent that there has been a significant increase in the number of accusations within threads of members being Racist, Trolls, Bigots, Bullies, and most recently, anti-Irish Republican, or anti-British.

There have also been occasions of questioning the Staff Team's role in this within threads. This in itself is against site rules.

For the good of everyone on the site, this behaviour quite simply has to stop. Site rules are very clear so please take the time to read and follow them all.

It would be extremely arrogant and unrealistic to expect the Staff Team to automatically side with a particular section of members against another. Of course Staff members as individuals will have their own thoughts, leanings, and beliefs on certain topics, but whilst Moderating, a certain amount of balance has to be given, otherwise we could see sections of members being alienated, and the future of the site could suffer if it is shown that Staff only accept "certain minded" members.

Let it be made clear, the staff team do not moderate this forum with any hidden agenda towards certain members and we do not show favouritism towards any member, or group of members, based on their opinions or beliefs.

Chat forums such as this are successful due to the amount of varied opinions given on different topics.

We attempt to give everyone the opportunity to voice an opinion, within reason and site rules. If that opinion wanders into what we would consider too extreme, we would then take action.

Heavy handed Moderation is very often avoided, but when that leniency is abused by just a few, then steps will be taken to ensure TalkCeltic is a place where the majority can participate without prejudice. Likewise, anyone who is very easily offended should not be near a forum of this description.
