Agreed. There are a few reasons behind this anti-Western feeling among some Muslims.

But if, as you say, this anger at us has been brought to forefront by Iraq/Afghanistan, then is it reasonable to say that it has made it worse.

At some point, if we want this to stop, we are going to have to look at what we are doing to make this situation worse. We must fight the terrorists all the way, but let's be honest. Even if we managed to wipe them all out more would spring up. Why is that ? Surely that means that we must be doing SOMETHING that plays a part in making them (a minority by the way) hate us so much.

It's not as simple as saying these Muslims who hate us are all raging bams who have just got it in for us and are determined to wipe us out. They feel we are doing exactly this to them.

Thay have got a one-sided view of this, and so have we. The answer has got to be somewhere in the middle no ?

yes of course. we think they are evil and terrorists, they think they are doing the right thing. its the way you look at it (or whatever culture you were brought up in). the invasion has made it worse, most people in scotland are against the war because we can see that no good will come of it.

So long term, as well as doing everything we can to fight terrorism, we are going have to deal with their (often genuine) grievances against us.

We see what they are doing to us as extreme. They feel that what we are doing to them is extreme. If we keep this up where is it going to end ? Imagine these loons got hold of chemical weapons or nuclear weapons. Unthinkable.

we have nuclear weapons just now and the government is planning to spend 20 billion pounds on renewing them. what else could that money be used for? the list goes on forever. would not be unlikely if they got hold of them because they think we want to use ours on them.
