Sheridan scored tonight for Apoel I'd rather have him back in the team to be honest

He started up front at Ibrox in March 2012 when we could have won the title there and done * all that day too.

Go on people. Tell me how that mythical creature Hooper would've coped any differently from Stokes?

...and he stayed in the middle of the park and, shock horror, got in the box!

The fact people have brought up Boyd shows how inept Stokes is. Boyd is limited but he knows how to be a striker.

Stokes doesn't have a clue. He has learned nothing in the 4 years we've had him. He has not improved any area of his game in that time.

In the box for a start. Guy's just an extra obstacle our wide men have to avoid when dribbling.

Hooper scored twice against Spartak Moscow en route to the last 16 in the 2012/2013 season, not to mention the amount of goals he scored into the scum when our league was still somewhat competitive.

There is no comparison between Hooper and Stokes, the former is simply more talented.

At least Hooper has * scored in the Champions League, unlike stokes. He is also twice the finnisher.

Pukki's more a finnisher than Hooper.

Stokes is absolutely out of his depth at this level. It's no real fault of his own, although he could do with a few extra hours on the training pitch, and i suppose not the mangers either since he has a poor pool of forwards to choose from. But we desperately need a striker for Europe and this guy just ain't him.

sooner the better for both partys hes gone the better, said it too many time to mention, the guy is more interested in arguing over free kicks and corners than to be a striker

Folk called Hooper a lazy bass and other such likes. Complained about Hooper getting selected ahead of Stokes in the big games.

Hooper made runs in behind, he would get defenders turned and running back towards there own goal. He would stick his fat * into the defender and look to hold the ball up.

Not once did he bother the Maribor centre-halfs. They only had problems when Van Dijik got sent forward.

I'm talking about the game tonight. There was an Airbus length between the midfield and Stokes. He's not great at the lone striker role but what would Hooper have done any differently? Apart from that 15 minute period when Commons came on, we were totally devoid in the midfield. Very few chances were created for the forward. Whether that be Stokes or Hooper or anyone else, I think it's harsh to make him the scapegoat.

Stokes isn't good as a lone striker but like in his previous partnerships, Stokes may have flourished if we had BOUGHT a striker. Liewwell is of course to blame.

    He was really bad tonight.

I read on here quite a lot how Stokes supposedly works really hard and never stops running. Most times he was just walking about, there were times when midfielders were running past Stokes to close down the Maribor defenders.
