We have drawn up a little list of guidelines on how use the forum and it's functions, hopefully you guys will find this useful and will in return make the forum easier to use, keep it tidier and help staff.

    Reporting a post.
If you find a post offensive whether it be to yourself or someone else, or you suspect a spam or a post that is against the forum rules please report the post/s and let staff deal with the issue. Reporting a post is very simple...simply click on the red and white triangle- [IMG] which is located on the top right hand side of every post that is made. This will then open up a dialogue box like this
    [IMG]
Within this box type the reason that you are reporting this post and then hit send report. This will then appear in the staffroom and staff will discuss the report and take any action that is deemed necessary. Please not that abuse of the report function will result in action being taken for spamming/trolling staff...only report posts that are genuinely a problem

How to Quote another members post.

There are a few ways in which you can quote another members post....the easiest and most often used function for quoting is the simple Quote button- [IMG] This then open up the reply box with the members quote included, all you have to do is post your reply to that member.

    Quoting multiple members posts
If you want to quote more than one members post, please use the multi-quote function which is this little button here- [IMG] This is located right next to the Quote button, you can select as many posts to quote as you like. Once you have selected the posts you wish to quote...click on the Post Reply button- [IMG] the posts that you have selected will be included in the reply box...it will look something like this - [IMG] you can then reply to each person/post by typing directly beneath each quote, ensuring you don't interfere with the quote tags which look like this ( [ QUOTE ]) Image below is how it should look before you hit submit/reply
    [IMG]

If you have selected a post to quote and want to reply to individual parts of the quote separately, use the [IMG] button and then to split the post down you use the [IMG] button which is located on the bar on the top of the reply box. To use the [IMG] tag....all you have to do is highlight the text you want to quote, for example, copy and paste it in the reply box, then highlight it again[IMG] and then click on the [IMG] this will then add quote tags to the post and it will look like this

This guide should help you use the quote functions properly as it is no long acceptable to use bold text, enlarge text or use a different colour of text to quote and reply to another member. This can be very confusing for both members and staff to read.

    Inserting images into posts.
First of all find the image you want to use and then while hovering over it....right click on your mouse and select ' Copy Image Location' or 'Copy Image URL' depending on which OS you are using. This will give you the image location or address which you need for the next part.

Now what you do is click on this icon [IMG] which is located on the bar above the reply box and it will open up a box like this [IMG] what you now need to do is paste the URL of your image as explained above into the box, you can do this by right clicking on your mouse and selecting paste, like this.
[IMG] now hit ok and your image will appear in your post like this once you have replied
    [IMG]

    To post a Youtube Video

All you have to do is copy and paste the URL from the address bar of your browser and paste it directly into your posts....you do not have to use any special tags and as such should ignore the [IMG] icon above

How to insert a link to another webpage
This is very simple....just copy the URL from the address bar of the webpage you want to link and then click on this icon [IMG] this will open up a pop up box like this [IMG] paste the URL(WEb Address) into the box and then hit ok....your link will look like this in your reply box.

and like this in your post http://www.talkceltic.net/forum/index.php
You don't have to do anything else but you can change the way the link appears by changing the text that appears here highlighted blue...for instance if you wanted it to read TalkCeltic Forum you change the blue highlighted text to that, and it will appear like this TalkCeltic Forum

    Donating Credit to another member

vCredits is a virtual currency that can be used in the vBookie section or if you are a Gold member....in the Casino. Every member has a link that shows up on their posts that you can click on to donate vCredits to them.

Clicking on that will open up a page like shown below....all you then have to do is leave a comment and enter the amount you wish to donate. Please note that any donations sent will be subject to a 5% deductions because like banks....the vcredit bank likes to rip it;s customers off :smiley-laughing002:

To check your own credits click on the check button which is found on your own posts and instead of saying 'Donate' it will say 'Check' like shown below... clicking on this will show you how many you have and what your recent transactions have been.
