I truly believe the demise of Rangers has already had an effect on our crowds.
3 home games in the SPL so far.
    48k
    46k
    41k

I dont think it will go down at the same rate, but last year, the first 3 games at home had these attendances:
    51k
    52k
    49k
I think it is a worrying trend!

Even in the EPL there aren't that many clubs who get more than 41,000 at their home games. 40,000+ at Celtic Park to take on a team that's pretty much a 1st division side was a pretty impressive crowd to me. Especially when you consider the Zombie 5088 FC and their cheap arsed tickets yet they still can't sell out EyePox stadium.

Recently i have begun to believe that the demand isn't actually there anymore. I am one of those who go to every home game and after Wednesday against Benfica, the game against Dundee seemed almost tedious when i woke up on Saturday. :54:

There probably were, but im just going by the SPL website figures.

I dont think the word embarrassing is in any way appropriate, but i do find it quite sad.

Eh? What about the hundreds of thousands of fans all over the UK and world who are too far to travel every week and can't afford a Sky subscription?

I don't think streams are the problem here.

And what happens to fans like myself who no longer live in scotland should we not have the chance to watch the team anymore ,even though many of us were paying through the turnstiles when a lot of you were in nappies.

BBC like talking out their collective * when it comes to attendance figures. Bunch of *.

However, the prices are ridiculous at Celtic Park. More than 25 quid to see Celtic v Dundee? Crazy:smiley-laughing002:

That usually happens when you add on a magical 5-7K.

It might look good (41k) if you compare it to most EPL teams. But it's not good for Celtic.

Just under 58,000 is regarded as a sellout. We will never fill the full 60,832 capacity against any club, as they always need to leave seats for journalists etc, who don't always turn up. Stop being a * doom mongerer.

The reason they have high attendances for their home games is because their ticket prices are now less than half of our ticket prices, due to them playing three divisions below us. This has been said many times already in here, but I feel the need to re-emphasize this for those who now have an obsession with how many zombies are turning up at Mordor every second week.

Playing in the 3rd division is also still something of a novelty for them. Once that novelty wears off and winter comes in full force, you'll be looking at crowds of 20,000 over there most weeks.

Spot on. They are turning up in their numbers at the moment because 'They're ra bears, nae walking away'. In a couple of months when it's freezing, 20,000 of them will be staying at home.

It's good if you compare it to the EPL, but it's not good for us? :43:

The EPL, the self proclaimed "greatest league in the world" against the "pishy wee SPL"?

I think in the current climate, a 50k average (that's what it will be at the end of the season) is * tremendous.

Both us and Sevco have played 6 home games this season in all competitions. Our average attendance is just over 49k, at about 25 quid a pop works out at about 7.35 million for the club. Sevco have had an average of 38k at their home games at 15 quid a pop is 3.4 million.

People are saying its a poor show from Celtic fans should look at the money we are pumping in compared to them. Double the * money weve payed.

    Embarrassing right enough though?
