Angus aint anywhere near the best, but I understand he is some peoples favourite guitariist but the best guitarists are your ones like steve vai, petrucci, satriani, paul gibert etc if we're talking about in terms of talent. Obv making the assumption you mean electric guitarists

Although technically not the best. John Frusciante is my idol as far as guitar playing goes. His style and passion for music is unparalleled (Look at the amount of solo albums he's released along side his band material).

forgot about the unreal Newton Faulkner, not hugely well known, but he is brilliant at what he does.

Ive got a few of his albums, good stuff.Apparently he done solo work to fund his heroin habit.
My fave has got to be Mark Knopfler,Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page.

Yeah? Tbh it wouldnt surprise me. Most rock stars will be on all starts of drugs no doubt so i doubt he'd be the only one. I just love the passion he has for what he does. One of my all time fave live performances was the RHCP - Live at Slane Castle. Epic stuff - watch this and tell me its not epic!

Just out of curiosity has anyone ever watched the documentary called "It Might Get Loud"? It's a documentary on the electric guitar from the point of view of the Edge, Jimmy Page and Jack White. Actually Jack White is another major influence for me. Im glad and grateful that my generation had a true talented blues player.

Edge is an inspirational player by unconventional terms. Technically he is nowhere near the best player in the world but his understanding of guitar effects and sound design is astounding. He has his own stamp too - you know his stuff instantly as soon as you hear him. Id have loved John Mayer to have been on that documentary too as i feel he would have had alot to offer too as he is a fantastic musician.

Mick Taylor. Severely underrated. He played lead guitar for the Stones between 69 and 74.
