Holders Rangers set a quarter final meeting with Old Firm rivals Celtic in the Tennents Scottish Cup with a 2-0 win over Kilmarnock at Rugby Park.
Second half goals from Ronald de Boer and Shota Arveladze (penalty) were enough to ensure Alex McLeish's men progressed into the last eight.

Kilmarnock almost got off to a perfect start with Martin Hardie striking the woodwork with a fierce volley from Gerry Hay's cross and seconds later Eric Skora forced Stefan Klos into a good save low down to his left.

De Boer was the next one to hit the woodwork on the half hour mark when he somehow managed to find the post from close-range, and when the ball came back out to him he inexplicably blazed his shot over the crossbar.

Arveladze was inches away from giving Rangers the lead four minutes after the restart with a powerful drive from the edge of the area which came back off the underside of the bar and de Boer hooked the rebound well wide of the target.

The Dutchman finally broke the deadlock on 62 minutes with a fierce left-footed shot from Michael Ball's cross.

Rangers put the result beyond doubt five minutes later with Arveladze converting from the penalty spot after being he had been felled by Gordon Greer in the box.

Livingston ended non-league battlers Spartans Cup dreams with a 4-0 win in their Tennents FA Cup fourth round tie at City Park with Derek Lilley the hero for the SPL side with a hat trick.

Spartans threatened a potential upset in the first half going close on a number of occasions with Craig Manson having claims for a penalty turned down and then blazing over when well placed.

Livingston upped the pace in the second half and broke the deadlock on 53 minutes with Lilley getting on the end of Burton O'Brien's cross to head home at the back post.

Loan star David Fernandez doubled the SPL's side six minutes later with a cool finish and Lilley put the game beyond Spartans with a deflected shot for the third on 61 minutes

Lilley capped a magnificent personal performance with his third on 70 minutes to seal Livingston's passage into the last eight and a meeting with Aberdeen.
