I love how everyone has decided he is a class act on the basis of a game against spartak and a youtube montage.

Everytime I've watched him he doesn't command his area and is liable to mistakes.

Would much rather sign FF permanently. There is a reason this guy couldn't displace that bombscare Huerelho Gomes at spurs.

Maybe it's just his personality to not shout at his defense. No need to cross him out because he's a bit less vocal. But Pletikosa does direct the defenders actively, and has experience. If either of them is signed, it is good.

Was thinking this myself, maybe he's just up training tryin to get his sharpness back waiting on Lenny to return if he didn't play at all last season.

If he is as good as he was 3/4 seasons ago he will be a quality signing.

Neither could Cudicini, who imo is easily a better keeper than Gomes. Harry Redknapp just rates Gomes alot, for some strange reason.

I agree, total waste of £2mil, forster is distinctly average. Newcastle can f off:bbpd:

Pletikosa will be a good signing...:50:

What and Forster does, have you been watching the same keeper :bbpd:,

Why would you rather sign Forster? Because he is young? We need to have a couple of experienced players drafted in. I've said this all along. And this you have decided he is a class act based on one game and youtube? Nah m8, he's an experienced keeper, european experience and over 80 caps. Thats why most people think he is worth a punt. Or for the same price you could have a player with 1 season in the SPL, and a couple of loans in the lower english leagues. Cmon this ffs this is not rocket science!!!

not going to lie and say i know loads about this guy. If we are all being honest, its probable none of us know much about him. But when he went to tottneham their was a big fuss made. When i hear anyone speaking about his ability its usually positive stuff. As they say, no smoke without fireetc.

Got a good feeling about this one, if he proves his fitness its worth taking a gamble on.

It's very unusual for a good quality keeper to go on trial...especially with an SPL team.

    This worries me.

If Pletikosa signed for us I'd bet good money he wouldn't keep 24 clean sheets this season. The negativity towards Fraser Forster on this forum is quite baffling.

Having said that, I'd be pretty happy if we end up with Pletikosa between the sticks.

Quite confident this will happen. Lenny has just recently stated he is looking to bring experience into the squad and Pletikosa fits the bill

TBH I think he could match it, so long as the defense preforms this year.

Would rather forster but will be happy enough if we sign Pletikosa. but for me we should be going all out to make sure we land forster.

We should not be basing his current ability on the fact he could not displace the keepers at Spurs. Harry Redknapp has time and again inexplicably picked distinctly average players for no good reason while leaving out excellent players e.g Kranjcar, Keane, Cudicini, Hutton, Bentley, Jenas and to an extent last season, defoe!!

Id be more inclined to think he is good if harry never played him. An experienced international keeper is exactly what we need for Europe.

NEIL LENNON has swooped to secure Croat keeper Stipe Pletikosa on trial - but the Celtic boss insists Lukasz Zaluska will start the season as his new No1.
Zaluska looked to be on his way out of Parkhead this summer, but a keeper crisis has put him right back in the frame.
Lennon's bid of £1.5million for Fraser Forster was rejected by Newcastle.
Scotland's Craig Gordon remains on Celtic's radar while Lennon confirmed last night that former Spurs star Pletikosa will arrive in Glasgow later this week.
Lenny said: "He'll be coming in on trial, that's all but confirmed. We'll get a look at him for a week or two when we get back.
"I spoke to Harry Redknapp through a third party. He was raving about him."
But it's Zaluska - after pleading with Lenny last week - who will face Hibs on the opening day.
Lennon added: "He's in a far better place mentally than this time last year.
"He went through a period where he wasn't quite right. But he's physically a lot better too. He looks a lot more assured and confident now.
"It was a step up when Artur Boruc left and he didn't seem to handle that as well as we would have liked him to. But I had no qualms about using him at any stage last season and I would have no qualms with starting the season with Lukasz in goal."
Gordon has been told he can leave Sunderland with Arsenal and Manchester City among his admirers.
But Lennon insists Celtic are also keen on him.
He said: "His name has cropped up a few times. The problem is he's not fit until October."
