I made it no secret that I thought Kayal was one of my favourite footballers at the club (pre-injury).

If we could get that player back on a regular basis, I think I'd cry tears of happiness.......genuinely!

He's a good attacking player if he gets the chance. Right now, anything that comes to him on the edge of the box, he's not trying to murder the ball, just make a nice connection and guide it. Maybe it can be a regular thing for him.

It's like the stun shot in snooker, you hit the football with zero follow through and you get crazy physics on the football with the minimal amount of effort. If he's got that down, expect goals from him more regularly.

Ronaldo is insanely good at doing that. Hardly any backlift or follow through and the shots like a bullet.

Surely the ball has to be fizzed at you for that to happen?

Can't imagine a dead ball or a ball travelling the same direction as the goal is going to go very far with no follow through. :smiley-laughing002:

I'm the same mate. Absolutely loved the guy. If he finds form, it would be like having a new signing. I just hope that Lennon plays him regularly, because I think that's what is missing at the minute. Brown's suspension seemed like a disaster at the time, but it might just mean that we get the old Kayal back. And that player is superior to any other central midfielder we have in my opinion.

Kayal will never be an attacking player for us, he just hasn't got the attributes for it. Don't remember the last time he got an assist (which he really should be getting more of from a Celtic midfielder who isn't overly defensive) and his shooting is just naturally mediocre.

Practically every dig is a tame shot straight at the keeper or miles over. That was a pretty poor effort on Tuesday given the space he had, thank-* for the deflection. :smiley-laughing002: He wasn't trying any fancy technique to deceive anyone, he's just very limited at shooting. I'm not sure if he'll ever improve that aspect as surely he's been working on it extensively in training, going 2 and a half years without a goal must have been playing on his mind. He should be aiming for at least 5 goals a season for the amount of attempts he has on goal.

Kayal looks really hungry to do well for us. It's good to see.

I think we might see some improved performances from him now.

Not really mate. Would like to hear the physics behind it, it doesn't seem possible :56:

it's mostly used at dead balls and its all to do with the speed of your leg. you need to have insanely strong legs to manage it.

For those who are in love.....
Given kayal a bit of a rough deal lately thinking he may not get back to his best, and I admit I couldn't really see it..
But the signs are there,I will be delighted if he can get back to his pre injury form..
He was easily one of my favourites and easily one of our best players..

Van Dijk does it when he passes the ball into midfield sometimes, Xavi does it to disguise short range passes. So it's got some different variations, but really all your doing is stunning it. It's nothing new, Ronaldo didn't invent it either, because David Narey scored one of the best ever Scotland goals against Brazil using it back in 1982:) Zico too for that matter in the same game
