Yeh there is a lot of new advertising and pop-ups. You should get Firefox or a least a pop-up blocker though.

Im finding the same, quite annoying. * knows what's happened to my pop-up blocker:54:
Also, every time I come onto TC something happens to my Microsoft Word and it asks me to download something:97: Just noticed now that this eventually leads to my BT Internet Explorer being non respondant and I have to close up and start again...then the cycle begins. Anyone have any ideas what this is all about?

I've got a blocker that works well for everything else except the one that comes up when coming on to this forum

    try going into

    local disk :c:

    then into

    Documents and settings

    Then go into (all users)

and ten last of all go into faverites and delete all of the files in it because they files are usually spyware and adware and they produce pop ups

Then do the same for the other documents etc

All users then go into John and then ashley :50:

That normally helps me also use firefox or if you can internet explorer 7 it's the best

These files can be blocked by pop up blockers as they are saved in the favorites so it allows them:50:

U have just go to hate hackers and spyware people just why do they * do it it's * annoying

my firefox is not stopping this

plus, my mcAfee site advisor has a red warning as regards to the pop up once it comes up

    which is horrendous news

possible browser hyjack and allsorts , keep this up and this site will come up as a no-no on mcAfee site advisor

    it will warn users off

Trough personal experience I have found that pop-up advertising does not work. It drives people away from the site as its annoying when it slows your internet down and even crashes it. Also very little people, if any actually buy products via pop-up advertising.

Everytime I visit a page on here I get an annoying installation thing. Microsoft is looking for me to insert the Windows CD and install something. This is NOT a Popup or Pop under but an actual Windows prompt. It is highly annoying and WILL put me off the site. Popups and popunders are one thing but having to constantly cancel Windows trying to install something via CD every page view is down right crazy. Please do something guys as this doesn't happen when I'm on any other site. Here's another idea for you's rather than using another Popup advertiser agent like Clicksor. Make your own popup that pops up once per visitor or once every 10 views or so. In the popup you could have affiliate ads and sponsored links. Just an idea.

Hey Celtic Mad, just to let you know that the problems I was having are now gone.

I personally don't mind if you use popups or popunders just so long it doesn't keep asking me to install things etc.

    Glad to hear they're gone!

Nah, I've decided against the popups, it's annoying too many of the members.
