The pound sign stuck on a player does not tell us in anyway how good he is or could be....look at some of the players we got on the cheap but when they left here they was much better players and worth alot more money to celtic.
To say we took in more than we spent is a little unfare given the fact we have signed 11 players, also take away the mcgeady cash and we would be a little in the poo poo.

no never looked like we would lose 2nd place and the leauge was not lost we still had alot of games left, mabe you gave in at that point? will never know since it's in the past, and it's easy to say now oh yeah leauge was lost the leauge was lost when lennon took over, thats my point not when we signed keane.....

have you got a short memory

here is a wee link for the info in the leauge rangers had one game in hand if we won that game in hand 7 points the difference at that time the leauge was not one

    Scottish Premier League 2009-2010 Table - statto.com

Man, some people just seem fundamentally unable to understand the basics.

Apologies for shouting, but THE "TRANSFER FEES" ARE NOT THE POINT!

There are three things to remember here

    1) It's about the wages.
    2) It's about the wages.
    3) It's about the wages.

And since the wages aren't made public, we don't have the slightest idea how much money has "gone out" and how much has "come in".

I'm not even going to start on about signing-on fees, agents' fees, etc etc, because if people refuse to get the basics then why bother going into the details?

As fans, we haven't a clue how much money we have "made" or "lost" this window. It's pointless to speculate, and even more pointless to pretend like we know.

We dont know the exact figures but it's unfair to say we dont have the slightest idea how much has come and gone.
I'm no expert but would be extremely surprised if we aren't significantly better off after the past 2 transfer windows.
The original point was that the price of a player is generally a fairly decent indicator of how good they are (there are obviously exceptions). We have sold players worth more than the ones we have replaced them with. I'm struggling to see how you can call this making progress.
Very surprised at the number of fans who disagree with this idea.
Too many fans think questioning the board or saying anything negative about the club is some kind of sin. It's this kind of unquestioning loyalty that has allowed the board to let the team go from being one of europe's top sides in 2003 to a team who get's * by Holland's 7th best team.

Why does lennon have to spend all the aiden money in one transfer window if the players he wants are not available why spend just for the sake of it personally I'm glad he has some left for January some people on here need a reality check

have u seen a handsome hun
didnt we just post our yearly accounts that showed we lost 5 million quid last year.........so the club has to address these issues by downsizing in terms of wages paid and transfer fees.......thus we get average players on average wages..... = nae * trophies.

Yes no ambition equals more debt because of no European participation, Celtic without Europe : 59-63M, Celtic with Europe : 67-75M now you see why we have made losses past two seasons.
