if they do come back and offer that we'd have to take it, cant see it to though. Doubt he'd want to play in Russia to be honest although he might see the pound signs.

Dont see it being true but if we could get anything like 12.5 upfront we should take it and run , We could replace him with Liam Lawrence , and sign Steven hunt both for around 6/7 million still leaves a good chunk left ,

Me also mate, im 90% sure its paper talk but if we could get anything after 10m it would be superb for the club, McGeady can be replaced, 12.5m would be great for the club, could sign Lawrence and Hunt who can both cross a ball better than McGeady and still have millions left.

Agreed, its also not like it'll leave a void in the team, Shaun Maloney is still there and Paddy Mccourt needs more of a chance if he can stay fit, same with Niall mcginn.

But anything over 10 mil would outstanding, Dont get me wrong Aidens great, but the last two seasons, ive found him to be quite predictable, surely other teams must be seeing that aswell.

I think that valuation is so the russians come back with 10million tbh i don't think by any stretch of the imagination we will get 12.5million

Per Russian press, the negotiations seem to be botched up completely. Phew, I was afraid that we'll waste helluva money on a player who'll become homesick in a couple months. Spartak should really buy more Russian players instead.

Neither do I, but the slightest possibility of it made me shiver. There's plenty of examples where high-profile signings from Western Europe ended with epic failures.

    1) Dumbasses from Dynamo bought a horde of Portuguese (including such well-known players as Costinha and Maniche) and Greece's Giourkas Seitaridis, of them only Danny and Derlei were of any use - additionally, Danny was bought while he was a youngster and can be considered almost a homegrown player.

    2) Lokomotiv sighed your fellow Scot Garry O'Connor. That guy played reasonably well at times, but refused to learn the language, consequentially failed to settle in Russia and had to be booted away.

    3) There are many more less famous examples: Jakupovic, Pelizzoli and so on.

Signing a player whose only motivation to play for you is money never ends in something good. That's why I think that you'll have to live without our money for McGeady:)

McGeady's agent confirmed interest of FC Spartak Moscow to Sport Express, russian newspaper, but he told that he knows nothing about Celtic rejecting Spartak Moscow offer.

Unless it's over £10m, we should keep hold of him.
