    Getting from Amsterdam Airport

The easiest way to get from Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport to Utrecht is by train. Tickets can be bought from the vending machines or airport ticket office.

    Schiphol Airport

There are two options for trains, direct train from Schiphol to Utrecht or get a train to Duivendrecht and then change to a train to either Eindhoven, Maastricht or Nijmegan. It takes just over half an hour by direct train and tickets cost €7.70.

Buses and trams operate throughout the city, purchasing a “strippenkaart” ticket is the easiest way to get around, a 15 strip card will cost just under €8 and is much cheaper than purchasing single tickets. When you get on the bus the driver will stamp the card.

Travel Information FC Sion v Celtic 25/08/11

    Getting to Sion

Although Sion has an airport the easiest way of getting to Sion is probably to fly in to Geneva and get the train.

The train will take approximately 2 hours, times can be checked on the SSB website (tickets cost around CHF 25 with the current exchange rate currently around 0.9 Euro for 1 Swiss Franc or 0.8 GBP for 1 Swiss Franc)

The other option would be to fly to Zurich, the train from Zurich to Sion takes approximately 3 hours but costs around CHF 50.

There is also a large bus station in Sion so a possibly cheaper alternative would be to get the bus from either Geneva or Zurich.

    Getting around Sion

Sion is a small town so there should be no problems getting around, the town is serviced by 6 main bus routes servicing each of the districts of the town.

    Things to see and do

Sion is one of the oldest towns in Switzerland, it’s the capital of the Valais region of the Country. There is plenty to do in the town with museums, castles, stunning scenery, the old market every Friday and who could forget the opportunity to do some wine tasting in one of the numerous wine cellars.

(Note the official website is in French)

    http://www.fc-sion.ch/index.php?pageID=6d64fa34f5db0007a0877c14665ce9a1

The Stadium is situated in the East of the town as is a 15 minute walk from the station, although the capacity is usually just over 20,000 more than half of that is for standing areas, due to UEFA regulations this has resulted in the capacity being restricted to just 8,000.

There is plenty of public transport options, including an extensive bus & train network.

A single journey ticket will cost €1. However, a Metrobus ticket, will cover 10 journeys, on BOTH the bus & train networks, for just €6.70.

What to do? What to see?

    Getting to Rennes

    From the Airport:

Unless you are feeling rich & want to spring for a taxi or a car rental, your best bet for travel between Rennes Airport & the city is via the Number 57 bus. There is a covered bus stop on the opposite side of the road when you exit the airport. Buses run every 15-20 minutes & will take roughly the same length of time to travel into the town.

    Getting Around the City

The Metro system is probably the b est value for money. A single journey will cost €1, or you can ride all day for €3.
There is also an extensive bus network & place de la République is the central hub for the transport network.

What to do? What to see?

The place de la République and the place Sainte-Anne are good central locations from which to find your way. Most of Rennes more interesting bars & restaurants can be found just to the south of place Sainte-Anne towards the place Des Luce. :50:

Udine Travel Advice: Udinese v Celtic 15/12/11

    Getting to Udine

There are three possible airports & depending on which airline you fly ith determines which Airport, so bare this in mind before booking flights.
Venezia (Marco Polo airport), Trieste (Ronchi dei Legionari airport) and Treviso.

From Ronchi dei Legionari (Trieste) Airport -

The nearest airport to Udine is at Ronchi dei Legionari also known as Trieste airport. Routing is mainly through Milano and Roma.

From Trieste airport there is a bus services connecting Udine run by APT Gorizia (bus number 51). The journey will take roughly an hour. Tickets can be purchased in the Arrivals Hall at the Airport or at the Tourist Information Counter.

From Marco Polo (Venice) Airport -

From this airport you may easily reach Udine by train using the close railway station of Mestre. Mestre railway station is connected by bus to the airport (ask for the bus to Mestre, not to Venezia). The ATVO (express) bus runs every 20 minutes & costs €3.

From Mestre Railway Station, there are roughly hourly train services to Udine.

    From Treviso Airport -

If you are travelling via Treviso, you will need to catch th Bus Number 6 to Treviso Railway Station. Buses run every 30 minutes. From there you can catch a direct train to Udine.

    Getting Around the City

Udine is serviced by a network of buses connecting Udine with nearby towns. The city centre itself is quite small, compact & easily traversed by foot.

    The Stadium

Stadio Friuli is actually in Rizzi, which is a suburb-like town northwest of Udine. The stadium itself is about 4km from Udine’s city centre, so it’s not easily walkable. The easiest way to get to the stadium from Udine is to catch the Number 2 bus from the train station (just south of the city centre), which will get you right to the stadium.

    HJK Helsinki

    Getting to Helsinki

There are regular daily flights to Helsinki, flying with the likes of Finnair, KLM, British Airways & Blue1. There are 2 terminals at the airport in Helsinki, so make sure to make note of which one your flight is arriving/departing from.

From the Airport there is the Finnair City Bus, an express service which will take you to downtown Helsinki. These depart every 20 minutes and is roughly a 1/2hr journey & costs €6.50. By comparison, a taxi will take the same time & cost roughly 40-50 euros.

    The City

The city itself is easily laid out. The streets are set out in a grid pattern, making it comparatively easy rather than the mishmash of other urban planning. Loads of parks and historical places of interest are common throughout the city and the various districts. Helsinki has plenty of places for a drink. The main nightlife districts, all in the city center within crawling distance of each other, are around the Central Railway Station and Kamppi.

    Getting Around the City

The city is serviced by an extensive network of trams, metroline subway and buses, so public transport should not be an issue. It is only about 2-3km from Helsinki Central Station and the Stadium (less than the distance between Central and Parkhead), so it is also easily done on foot.

    The Stadium

    Sonera Stadium
    Urheilukatu 5 00250 Helsinki, Finland

With a capacity of just over 10,000 it will be interesting to see how much of an allocation there will be for the travelling support. The Stadium is literally located next to the Olympic stadium.

    Getting to Helsingborg

Ängelholm-Helsingborg Airport is situated approximately 40KM from Helsingborg. Flying to Copenhagen (Denmark) is also a viable alternative, roughly an hour from Helsingborg & is connected by regular rail services.

    The City

Helsingborg is a scenic coastal city, situated on the western coast of the Ørsund (The Sound) & the Danish city, Helsingør is visible from the city. If you are looking for a pint, it is quite expensive, so bear this in mind.

    Getting Around

    Getting to Moscow

Spartak Moscow v Celtic, Tue 2 October 2012.

First off, entry into Russia requires a visa, so your first port of call will need to beRussian National Tourist Office (020 4957570, www.visitrussia.org.uk). Unfortunately there are no direct flights from Glasgow, however at the moment there are affordable flights to be had.

Moscow is served by a number of different airports, including Domodedovo (DMO) & Sheremetyevo (SVO). The aeroexpress trains connect both airports with the city (Belrussky station). Journey will take approx 35 - 45 min (depending on which airport) & cost 320 P (350 with a metro ticket).

    The City

Moscow is expensive. Very expensive. Like any big city there is plenty to see and do, and there are no end to the number of bars and clubs. Here is a link to some of the more popular bars and clubs: http://www.waytorussia.net/Moscow/PubsBars.html

    Getting Around

Moscow is famed for it's traffic jams, and the taxis are pretty notorious also. The best bet for getting to the ground is to take the metro. Take the Sokolnicheskaya (red) line from Okhotny Ryad station (opposite Red Square) and get off at Vorobevy Gori or Sportivnaya.

    Moscow metro system map: http://www.mosmetro.ru/flash/scheme01.html

    The Stadium

    Luzhniki Stadium.
Built in 1956, the stadium hosted the 1980 Olympics as well as the Champions League Final of 2008. It is also home to one of the game's most tragic nights, when in 1982 spectators were trampled to death suring a UEFA Cup matchbetween Spartak and Dutch side, Haarlem. The official death toll is 66, however other estimates put that figure in excess of 300. Since then the stadium has undergone extensive redevelopment which has reduced the capacity to its current level of 69,500 approx.

    Getting to Barcelona

    Barcelona v Celtic - 23 October, 2012

Barcelona has long been a favoured and popular tourist destination. As such, there are an array of flights departing from Glasgow, Prestwick, Edinburgh or Dublin. Once at the airport in Barcelona there are a number of ways to travel into the city, including by bus, taxi or train, though one of the most popular an convenient ways is the Aerobus. This express bus service can be caught from outside both Terminals 1 & 2. Tickets cost €5.65 for a single and €9.75 for a return (return ticket valid for 9 days).

    The City

There is plenty to do and see in the city and surrounding areas. There are loads of tourist attractions including famous beaches, museums, galleries, restaurants and of course Las Ramblas, which has plenty going on both day and night. Word to the wise though, keep your wallet & passport etc well secured, as Las Ramblas is a known target area for thieves who prey on unsuspecting tourists.

    Getting Around

Barcelona is serviced by an extensive public transport system, featuring both a metro (subway) and bus network. Individual metro journeys will cost €2, though if you are planning on doing some exploring, then the T10 is a more affordable way to go.

The Camp Nou. One of football's true cathedrals which befits the team that has dominated the World Game for much of the past 6 years. Barcelona's iconic home is a tourist attraction unto itself & is worth a visit, even if not on matchday. Originally opened in 1957 it was redeveloped in the early 1980's, followed by a further facelift in 1993/4, it has a capacity of almost 100,000. This majestic stadium has hosted the final of this competition twice.
