as i work for myself and be in anything up to 6 different houses every day...at least 40% of clients i have will leave the key out for me to get in, now when inside i see a collection of dvds, Cd's etc...if i took my laptop and ripped the media off the discs while im working away!

would you class this as stealing?

No really, would be even less if you asked the people. Then if they came in when you were doing it you wouldn't have to explain anything.

Would you tell the owner you were doing it? If you dont have permission then yes, it sstealing but id imagine that if you asked the folk would be ok with it, infact ive worked on houses where the owners left out dvds etc to put on in the background while we worked. Dont ask though and you go to *, sorry, them's the rules.

I went in a drawer once just being nosey and it was a drawer of bras :52: what a slagging I got, they all called me Bras for about 2 month :31:.

Wasn't expecting thats what would be in it, wasn't in a room or anything, we were doing an extension on a house which was a Kitchen and the drawers were in the Kitchen even though it was empty apart from worktops, cupboards and tools and stuff lying about they weren't normal drawers either where people usually keep clothes in they were those small drawers except there was about 8 drawers on it.

Basically just imagine how you'd feel if you left a stranger in your home, came back and found them raking through your possessions to find stuff to copy.

Might not be stealing but totally untrustworthy... I wouldn't even contemplate doing that.. Big "NO NO" from me :38:

Don't know about stealing but it's peculiar behaviour considering you can get anything you want online pretty much and you won't be running the risk of being caught copying folks stuff.

Its no stealing, id say its more copyright infringement or something,
Also is a bit weird, going through other peoples belongings.

Next time give me a shout, and we'll do a bit of a removal :56:

Yes it's also a little rude going through people,s belonings especialy when they are trusting you to be in their house alone .
