Celtic’s goalkeeper Artur Boruc may leave for the Premiere League’s Sunderland AFC, following in the footsteps of his former Celtic manager, Gordon Strachan.

As Gordon Strachan, the former Glasgow Celtic manager, is to become the new coach at Sunderland, the Fakt tabloid writes that Artur Boruc - <?XML:NAMESPACE PREFIX = ST1 />Poland’s national keeper – will possible move south to the same team. Strachan coached Celtic for four years and won the Scottish Championship three times. Boruc has been considered to be one of his favourite players.

At his new club, Strachan will need a good keeper. The current number one, Craig Gordon, bought for 9 million pounds from Hearts of Midlothian Edinburgh, was doing quite well until he let in six goals during one game. The reserve keepers, 35 year old Darren Ward and 26 year old Hungarian Marton Fulop, are rather average.

Artur Boruc is keen to take this new offer, speculates Fakt, especially that Sunderland now has a new sponsor. American billionaire Ellis Short has appeared at the Stadium of Light with a plan to build a strong team. It is quite probable that the Polish goalkeeper will be a part of it.

Sunderland finished 16th in the Premier League in the season

Why would they be buying a goalkeeper when they don't have a manager?

Well aparently they're getting their own sugar daddy, some American guy is about to take full control of Sunderland, and I really dont think Celtic will turn down anything in excess of 6 million pounds for Boruc, so if Sunderland offer more than Munich or Milan, I fail to see how this is a joke tbh.

    i love artur

i love him for sticking it to the troglodyte trash in this bigoted toilet of a country

but, he is a loose cannon and i fear may be disliked in the dressing room, we have signed two new keepers so I reckon the first decent offer and he will be offski and if he leaves then as long as the money is right for Celtic, I dont care where he goes.

This season I would have swapped Artur for Gordon in a heartbeat. Artur has lost it and has never been able to take a cross. Gordon is a lot better at crosses and an all round safer keeper. If they were mad enough to give us Gordon and a couple of million for Artur then we should * it

if we were given money in the region of 10/12 million, then get him to * :) hes been great for th club but with 2 new keepers ready to step in and fight for the no1 shirt, we cd spend that money on a few decent players

Dont see us getting that much to be honest mate - ad say around 8 if were lucky.

Ad take 8 million though, 4 million a player ? No bad left back and striker in that region if you ask me.
