STUPID * ARSEHOLES.

And to proove it their gonna examine video evidence of MON's "gesture" after the OF game to see if it was "Provocative" and could of lead to inciting a riot. Well thats what the huns think i've been looking at a few of their message boards (need a shower after it) and they have the cheek to accuse MON of trying to start trouble and winding them up.

Bob malcom gets dragged off by the police for his gesture which was a gesture to CELTIC fans but the huns would rather not talk about this.

Not to mention the behavouir of some of their players, i know some of ours were out of order but they got sent off and will face bans unlike some players they will serve their bans.

MON had the courage after the game to answer every question honestly and openly when they were put to him, unlike heck who couldnt answer any questions and chickened out of answering them.

At least the club has come out and backed MON

Celtic executive director Peter Lawwell has thrown his backing behind Martin O'Neill, following what he called "hysterical" criticism of the manager.

The Scottish Football Association are still waiting for referee Kenny Clark's report into Saturday's explosive Old Firm derby, which saw two Celtic players sent-off. That could mean retrospective red cards for further players from both Celtic and Rangers following a game marred by flashpoints.

But O'Neill could also find himself in trouble with the SFA for striding on to the Ibrox park following their 2-0 defeat and defiantly parading Neil Lennon to the Celtic supporters while shaking his fist but Lawwell has been quick to defend O'Neill, saying: "I am astonished at the reaction in some quarters to the events at Ibrox Park on Saturday."

He added: "Our manager Martin O'Neill has been on the receiving end of criticism which can only be described as hysterical.

"Martin's conduct throughout his four and a half years in charge at Celtic has been nothing short of exemplary, and his contribution, not only to Celtic, but to the progress of Scottish teams in Europe, is far too easily forgotten.

"Martin's behaviour both during and after the game on Saturday underlined his support for, and commitment to, the playing squad.

"As he himself said, throughout the game there was an incredible amount of unspeakable abuse directed at Neil Lennon.

"In today's society, no-one should have to put up with sectarian abuse of this nature, and Martin was keen to support a player who has been central to the domestic and European success Celtic has enjoyed in recent years."

I've also heard of 2 pubs been smashed up in glasgow and celtic fans been attacked with poles. The whole situation is gone way out of control and no way no how can you depend on the SFA to clean up the mess wouldnt be suprised if they fine/ban MON and every celtic player that has had video evidence turned in against them.

This is straight forward both players should be banned but then again the SFA have a soft spot for knacker novo.

it goes from bad to worse

Rangers fans are demanding an apology from Celtic boss Martin O'Neill after he accused them of directing racist abuse at Neil Lennon.
After Celtic's defeat at Ibrox, O'Neill claimed Lennon was "verbally abused in a racial and sectarian manner".

But John Macmillan, the general secretary of the Rangers Supporters Association, said O'Neill's comments were "outrageous".

"The authorities should be calling him up to explain those remarks," he added.

"Rangers fans have a right to be defended against these accusations and I think he should apologise to them."

O'Neill caused controversy when he led Lennon to the travelling contingent and repeatedly punched the air.

He explained later: "I applauded the crowd because the support was fantastic and because Neil Lennon was abused from start to finish.

"I think I had a right to show some support. He was verbally abused in a racial and sectarian manner."

Lennon, often the subject of invective at away grounds, was booed at every turn in a match that saw Celtic pair Alan Thompson and Chris Sutton ordered off.

And police are investigating claims Lennon made comments to fans and spat on a Rangers scarf which was thrown on to the side of the pitch during the match.

So whit if Martin O'Neil made a gesture to the Celtc fans? Last season, the de Boer's took their shirts off after the game and threw them into the hun crowd at Parkhead and started applauding which is nearly the same! Also, what about Boaby Malcom's wee gesture to the Celtic crowd!? They seem to forget about that...

The Celtic Supporters Association

In a civilised society neither racism nor sectarianism should be tolerated. Whilst the former receives plenty of attention, the latter, by far the biggest cancer in our game does not receive the attention it deserves.

Two examples in the last week of blatant racism and raw sectarianism have darkened our door but the media reaction to both could not have been more different.

Take Madrid last week when England’s coloured players endured horrendous racist abuse for 90 minutes from the Spanish fans who disgraced their country. The media reaction was one of justified outrage with the racists condemned from all quarters.

Compare this then to the Rangers fans’ behaviour in the recent Old Firm game at Ibrox. Whilst we are not perfect, the sectarian and racist abuse of Neil Lennon and Martin O’Neill in particular was much worse than was witnessed in the Bernabau. Last season too Agathe and Balde were subjected to vile monkey chants and booing by the travelling Rangers support at Celtic Park.

Imagine for one minute what the reaction would have been south of the border if the Spanish racists had sang “We’re up to our knees in coloured players blood, surrender or you’ll die?”

Where is the outrage and condemnation of the Rangers support, a Club with the worst record in world football for racism and sectarianism, indeed a Club who operated a sectarian policy against Catholics as official Club practice for over a century?

In the aftermath of the Old Firm game there is no doubt that the media reaction has been hysterical but one so called “journalist” in particular stooped even lower than most with a despicable and cowardly personal attack on Martin O’Neill, ironically as an Irish Catholic, a man who had been subjected to shocking sectarian abuse by the Rangers fans for the full 90 minutes.

O’Neill’s “crime” was to go to the Celtic fans at the end of the game to show his appreciation for our backing, as he does at EVERY away game. Just as Alex McLeish has done at Celtic Park even after the away support has spent the afternoon dragging their Club into the gutter with sectarian and racist chants. This time he showed his solidarity with Neil Lennon who had also been subject to abuse that in all honesty, how many of us could endure?

“Loutish, childish, out of control..not your team Martin, YOU” was the back page of The Sun above Bill Leckie’s hysterical personal attack on Saint Martin. “The game was ugly but O’Neill’s response to it was hideous” it screamed from the inside page as Leckie abused his position by launching into O’Neill with a bitter tirade.

To put things in perspective imagine if Sven Eriksson had led his coloured players out at the end of the game towards the England fans in a show of solidarity. He would have been a national hero. The pictures would have been all over the front pages with nothing but praise for the Swede who stood up for his players when the pressure was on. The whole country would have been behind him.

Far from being a hero O’Neill is accused of “threatening to start a war” by Leckie. “O’Neill is a lucky, lucky man that no Rangers player reacted to his stupidity – and even luckier that no one charged out of the West enclosure to have a go” Leckie does not expand on why any Rangers player would break off from celebrating their own victory with their fans to run up to the Celtic End and attack the Manager of the away team who is waving to his own fans in defeat! Neither does he explain why it would be O’Neill’s fault if he was attacked by a Rangers fan from the West enclosure.

Incredibly his next statement “Then again, maybe that would have given him some sort of perverted pleasure” defies belief.

Soon the reason behind his diatribe becomes perfectly clear and it’s personal, very personal. “For four and a half years he’s played the smart a*se”, “Frankly, I’ve been sick of him for a long time”, “This was the so called Saint Martin (copyright this website) at his twisted, spoiled, uncharitable, one eyed worst”, “Quite frankly I’m heart sick of him”

Leckie finishes off his diatribe by saying ”These days Martin O’Neill deserves the same respect that he shows the rest of Scottish football. Which is less than none”

The whole article is of the standard that you would expect from a drunken fan who goes on an internet Forum after the game, still inebriated, and vents his fury on a subject before regretting it all the next morning when he has sobered up. It speaks volumes of The Sun that the Editor has deemed it worthy of a two-page spread.

Maybe Leckie should sober up to this fact. The Celtic Supporters Association have led a Bhoycott of the Daily Record, which has seen the Editor sacked and caused dwindling sales. Celtic supporters are no longer prepared to sit back and accept the level of abuse that we have accepted in the past. Once again it is time for the massive worldwide Celtic support to unite against media bias.

Instead of carrying out a personal vendetta against one of the greatest Managers in our proud history, a man who has the full backing of the Celtic Supporters Association, Leckie should look deeper into the root cause of the problem and that is the vile sectarianism that pollutes Ibrox Park, from the Boardroom to every corner of the ground.

The time has come also for UEFA to treat the problem of sectarianism as seriously as it does racism. Whether it is a coloured player or a Catholic being abused, should make no difference. It is time for UEFA to act.

A Bhoycott of the Sun newspaper is now top of the Celtic Supporters Association’s agenda.

Well said, i never buy tabliods anyways. This whole thing is really turning out to be one big mess and i don't see any resolve coming from it.
