Now, let's try to keep this relatively civil.

I don't know if it's just me, but I find the quality of debate in here these days is terrible. There's always been a variant of opinions on here (which I suppose should be a good thing), but more and more I see threads/opinions which, imo, are bordering on ridiculous.

It really does feel at times as if you're having to defend the club's honour against such idiocy, and down right disrespectful comments about current/former staff and players - much to the point where you think "did these people actually watch these games?"

The match threads (even more so after a defeat) draw posters to it likes flies on * - coming on spewing their pish so much so that people actively avoid it like the plague.

Never will everyone share the same opinions and I think it's healthy to gauge other people's thoughts, but I feel it's getting to the stage now where you look at some of these comments/threads and quite simply just shake your head in disbelief that these people actually have such things going on in their heads, have very very short memories, or just generally have terrible opinions on Celtic and/or football.

I really do sit and think at times "why the * do some people on here support Celtic?"

In that case, your posts were an influence on the creation of this thread.

Nail on the head good sir.

I never visit the match threads after defeats, too many crazy folk.

I think some people truly try ... but there is definitely a clique, and definitely an anti-intellectual side to TC that kinda irks me.

I know certain people are avoided, because others, who've been here longer, don't like the looks of their posts, or whatever.

I'll probably get into trouble for saying that, but that's fine.

This is a big forum with people who will have a lot of differing opinions.

What is ridiculous to some is perfectly fine with others

I agree with your sentiments but that has been the case for as long as I can remember. The internet is always going to attract bampots who can spout nonsense from the safety of their laptop without having to hold themselves to account and if the trade-off for a having a forum is the occasional idiot running their mouth after we lose to lower league opposition then I don't really see the issue. If you are as intelligent as you appear to be you should have no issue rising above such idiocy.

Recently however, It feels more and more like if you hold a certain belief or disagree with a select few regular posters in here then you will be met with a concerted backlash.

Really? You want me to call out certain individuals? People who have been here for a long time? Fellow Celtic supporters?

No, man. They should know who they are. If not, well, that's fine, too. Aren't most of us adults here?

Look, I'm here to talk about Celtic in a sharp manner. That doesn't happen as often as I'd like. I can live with that. I ain't gonna lose sleep over it ... it's just what happens here, that's all.

I'm just telling you how I feel.

The forum always has, and always will, taken a severe knee-* reaction to bad results.

Even when Celtic are winning games, people can find faults.

That's just the nature of the beast, I'm afraid.

Fair enough. But I'm unsure of who you're referring so I don't really understand your point fully.

I've actually got to be honest and say I agree with this, there seems to be a small clique who share similar opinions and their opinions are the only logical ones and if you disagree you will be ganged up on and get told.

However, there's also a few zoomers in this section who really don't know what they're talking about and deserve all the stick they get.
