I was saying the exact same thing to my wife this morning good friend. I think this has been the best 'Watch' they've ever done. The segment on Starlings testicles on Monday was superb.

I've had a lot of fat balls and even fat cakes disappear overnight also after I've hung them from trees surrounding the wee school i'm working at,there was a trail cam bought by the school a wee while ago,i might ask them to set it up near the trees I hang the food from to see if there's a pinemartin around.

Taking my Ruby Roo Boxer over my local Field this afternoon which has plenty of Wild Flowers and long grass i noticed a young lad about 10 years old doing one of the Springwatchs Wildlife Surveys so i gave him the thumbs up,bless him. Then off me and Ruby Roo went to the Beach.Yes it really touched my Heart seeing that lad doing that..

Ah well, BFL, it got them. I found that very sad but on a brighter note, we had 6 goldfinches on our feeder this morning - 2 adults and 4 wee ones flapping their wings furiously waiting to get fed by their parents.

Me too, had hoped they would have survived...at least until the end of the series. :55:Painful to watch them being picked off like that...the wee last one tried so hard to get out. In our garden birds don't bother with each other too much, all do their own thing. A magpie will dive bomb the wee finches and * when they're on the feeders scattering them...even though it can't use them itself.

I love seeing young people having a love of nature. If only more people would do it, the world would be a better place.

Smashing fingers crossed Jonnie, also the crows at work that I feed bird nuts to (they love them and they're young bird also) are so tame that the dad crow comes very close to me, makes me feel very privileged such clever birds :) Mon the Crows @Notorious

Very clever birds alright,I often watch the jackdaws flying up to the seed feeders, hit them so they swing and get what spills on the ground.
