I don't agree with those saying Griff, maybe for free kicks, although I can't think of a decent one he'* since the 2 against England, but more specifically corners. You want him in the box for coners to get on the end of knockdowns and get the odd header, not stuck out at the corner flag. It was particularly painful when we were playing 1 up front and our only striker is taking the corners.

Griff shouldn't be near the starting 11, never mind set plays..

We need someone who is good enough to improve us as a team and in set piece situations.

You would like to think the players practise free kicks and corners in training but it really doesn't look like it during games there are a few who take them but.it would be good if teams actually got worried when we get a free kick around the box or a corner.

If the last World Cup taught us anything it was how vital set-pieces are. England got to the semi-finals on them and loads of tight games were decided by either by inventive set-plays or penalties won from them. We should have options in this area, not just one. Griff is great for free-kicks, but I hate strikers taking corners too. It is something I really expect attacking midfielders to be good at. I always felt Rogic should be working on this aspect of his game. He has great power and accuracy in how he strikes the ball and has never got it.
It seems to be one of Turnbull's main assets though, from what I have seen.

Do you ever have anything positive to say about the club you claim to support?

Had a quick glance at your posts and it would seem you don't.

    I go when I can.

Funnily enough we just won a treble treble... Of which you have posted about the grand total of zero times on here.

Aye the treble treble is phenomenal mate, no denying it. Sorry for being pessimistic but off the field ie bank accounts and infrastructure we should be watching better quality of players and there shouldn't be a title challenge. We're miles ahead of that mob but got embarrassed twice this year vs them. Am sorry for wanting us better. The performances have been utter * and I'm getting fed up of being robbed off the Tories upstairs for my season ticket. It ain't a cheap hobbie

How are we meant to get these higher calibre players? According to you they are all too good for Celtic and Scottish football.

He looks capable but I'm not sure 7 minute YouTube videos say a lot about 24 year old players. I'm sure a lot of players who have been playing that long can put together a decent video.

Not saying it suggests he's not good enough, just that he'd have to be seen over a few 90 minutes.

Mind you I thought Bayo (now 22) would be an amazing signing after watching a YouTube but that was cause of the range of finishing he seems to possess. I still have hopes he's going to be some player for us.

Regarding spot kicks, I've said this before and I know there's no comparison but Messi wasn't always good at free kicks, there is a video kicking about of him practising free kicks after sunset for Barca, just him alone practising for hours.

So, we might never get that kind of consistency but it does prove the point Practise makes best.

Use him as the free kick coach.

We used to have great set piece takers nakamura lubo larsson Thompson mulgrew.
We also had great headers of the ball in larsson Sutton hartson valgharen balde mjallby venegoor varga and vega.
Now we are nowhere near as strong from free kicks and our goals tally shows that under mon we used to win 5-0 or 5-1 most weeks now it's 2-1 and 2-0 lennon needs to drastically shake the team up this coming season!

Griffiths isn't good enough to be our starting striker, therefor he shouldn't even be in discussion as our "dead ball specialist".

We need better than Leigh Griffiths. He will always score goals in the league, but we need better. Far better. Dembele to Griffiths in two years is a depressing downgrade and characterises the clubs current trajectory.
