    Bit of a digression, but the first Musical I ever saw was Starlight Express and I absolutely loved it, my folks bought the soundtrack double cassette and I listened to it endlessly. 25 years later I still fire it on.

    Absolutely by Madness was my first Lp........gone back to vinyl lps now not sure why, but i do have an old but good record player and the sound from is very good and i enjoy sticking on an album while i getting ready to head out for a few beers.

    Ditto: I sang Neil Young, The Ramones & Tbe Pixies (among others) as lullabies, but they didn't seem to take with my daughter either... But as she is in her early teens, so there is still time and hope... fingers crossed, lol.

    Was also a big Sonic Youth fan. They could be very frustrating live though... some nights were fantastic, and some nights, lets put it this way... there is only so much you can handle of Kim Gordon playing the one note for over an hour, lol, but as my mate was always experimenting with weird * tunings to try and emulate Thurston Moore to try and get his sound.

    Cassette: 10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1 - Midnight Oil (and still one of my all time favourite albums)
    LP: Listen Like Thieves - INXS
    CD: Rattle and Hum - U2

    First Single on:

    Cassingle: Six Months in a Leaky Boat - Split Enz
    CD Single: I Want Your Love - Transvision Vamp

    First Digital Purchase: nil

    Only had a handful of LPs & 45s when I was a kid, mostly bought cassettes (or ...borrowed them) or making my own - into the early 90's. My dad did have a CD player from around '86 and did buy a few CD's but transferred stuff onto cassettes anyhow, so could use my walkman, lol.
