not disputing that mate, but i think it would be quite a high expectation to think that we could replace ntcham with a player on the same level.

In his first full season Turnbull managed 15 goals and was a stand out, where as Ntcham hasnt really managed to find consistent form, despite showing glimpses of real class.

Agree - also key to note when we signed Ntcham he wasn’t the player he is now, he can still improve and go further but that’s the rub - we’ll be signing players to develop them. Turnbull is young, Scottish and has potential, he is also a different player to young Hendo. I don’t see how having both of them on our books could be such a bad thing.

Turnbull has proved himself to be very effective domestically, he definitely has something about him..

Sign him and loan him back for the second half of the season and then see where we are at with him.. a full pre-season with us and see what players are still in the squad.

i do agree, however i do think Ntcham would have continued to develop at other teams also and i think his involvement in the france u21 has done him a lot of good.
Whilst his level of application and desire has been questioned, his talent never has been. I would like to see him involved more but i think that he will look to leave, especially if he finds himself on the bench because he is a better player than to be used sparingly. The sad thing is i think we will begin to see the best of him when he leaves, i can see him in france, italy or spain.

From my understanding Turnbull is a box to box player and im wondering how he fits in as we have mcgregor, brown and Ntcham and then christie and rogic competing for the 10. Unless ntcham does still want away...

Ntcham was in the youth squad of the EPL Champions, had just done a season-long loan to the Serie A and was being picked for the u21s of the World Champions. That's quite a different pedigree to Turnbull.

I'm not saying the guy is a bad player but I think the Ntcham comparison is a bit off. If there's any player he could be considered to, it's probably Christie. Good performances & goals in the SPL at a provincial club but still a good bit off being a Celtic first-team player.

Christie only cost us £500k but took 3 full years to develop into a first-team player for us. Turnbull at potentially £3 million+ is far more of an outlay (even taking into account 'football inflation') and would be expected to feature for us much, much sooner.

We spunked over £3 million on Kouassi who has now been at the club for just shy of 3 years and looks no closer to making the DM spot his, than when he first arrived.

I seen him yesterday at parkhead with his wee bird. Was standing at the Motherwell fan entrance, looked as if he was waiting to give people tickets.

We talking to the standards of the Motherwell medical team or the Celtic one?

    Back running again.

Wouldn’t be surprised if this is done in January assuming everything alright with his knee now.

    Definitely not IMO.

If he is signed he should be left at Motherwell until the summer.

I think we will leave it until the summer now. No doubt he will score against us as well !

No real point at the moment. Right now January only really has striker as a priority, maybe centre back. With Brown, Christie, McGregor, Ntcham, Rogic or Forrest I just don't think a semi fit Turnbull adds anything.
Maybe in the summer when we know what our squad is like we can decide.

I’d rather get him in and make him a Celtic player. Loan him back to Motherwell. We don’t know what Ntcham’s long term plans are and Rogic is only a few games away from another injury broony has a couple of seasons at most. Get him in and have him ready. We should always be looking for the best young talent

He hasn't played since the injury, we don't know how good he will be. It's why we didn't buy him in the summer.
