Raising Arizona is tremendous. Vintage Coen brothers, although Oh Brothere where art thou? would have to be my favourite.

The Big Lebowski is one of my all time favs (not just Coen Brothers), and Fargo is not far behind. :50: Then again, all of their films are all worth chcking out - including the lesser talked about ones, incl Miller's Crossing & Barton Fink. But they are all great - No Country For Old Men, Burn After Reading, O Brother & all the rest are classics for a reason.

The Aeronauts. 6/10. Loosely based on a true story. Was a bit slow at times but it was ok overall. The most enjoyable part of it is when they’re airborne.

“In 1862 headstrong scientist James Glaisher and wealthy young widow Amelia Wren mount a balloon expedition to fly higher than anyone in history. As their perilous ascent reduces their chances of survival, the unlikely duo soon discover things about themselves -- and each other -- that help both of them find their place in the world.”

'Fist Fight' (2017) - decent laugh - Ice Cube is still the man.

Fargo is almost flawless. Easily one of the best movies of the 90's.

Aye it was another poor take on the Irish troubles and so many times I thought “that could never happen.” Thought it glorified the Brits at times. Maybe just me but at the time so many were saying brilliant film. It was alright and nothing more. Haven’t seen Shadow Dancer.

Unbelievable so it is. Clooney,Turturo and Nelson are brilliant. John goodman is great and the soundtrack is good as well.

    This. :50:

What an absolute mess. Whether people liked the first film or not, it does have undeniable appeal and charm. The characters resonated with it's target audience, the songs were catchy, it had plenty of humour and tugged at the heartstrings in equal measure in the mix, and really did have something for the whole family. All achieved by telling a relatively simple story well, centred on a plot and sub-plot that dovetail to compliment and enhance the other.

This new film by contrast lacks every single one of those characteristics. It is like a room full of writers all pitched different ideas for this sequel, which were then all put in a blender, hit puree without putting the lid on and all the good stuff was lost while the dreggs were used to create this garbage. Terrible storytelling is at the heart of this but it is far from being the only fleas on this mutt. Tgere are about 5 sub-plots too many that just detract, it's not in the slightest bit funny - indeed the screening I was at had plenty of families attending and yet the sheer stunned silence as every supposed joke fell completely flat, bar a single one right at the end that got a few laughs, as did the supposed tearjerking moments that just fail. It just doesnt work on any level. The sad thing is, they took 7 years or something to make this, so it wasnt like it was a rush job to capitalize on the success of the original.

Perhaps the biggest crime is that every single song is entirely forgetable literally the minute they stopped singing it and most just wished they would stop singing it half way through - and that it is entirely overstuffed with way too many of these pointless songs. Like it or not, Disney has had a golden pipeline of it's films featuring songs that are catchy, earworms, and * impossible to ignore, which have deservedly dominate winning awards and karoake alike. Yet somehow they found a open sewer of absolute garbage and pumped them all in here. In a word: abysmal.

This is the perfect example of making a complete dog's breakfast in this trainwreck. Utter, utter, utter crap. And why other studios need to exist to add competition, because if this is what they know they can put out and ride the coattails of the original. Disney managed to * up Star Wars, but who would have predicted that they would do the exact same thing to their crown jewel property of the entire Disney Princess catalogue?

Very possibly the worst Disney animated film in decades. :thumbsdow
