Aye but Mourinho has always loved the sort of player Wanyama is, at United there were far better players ahead of Fellaini yet he was always his go to guy.

Possibly but I'd imagine he'll be getting money to spend and midfield will be an area he'll bring his own guy in.....as well as having Winks and Dier, who I doubt he'll sell..

Can see Mourinho loving big Vic. He will probably play him in the number 10 role the boring cynical *.

Mourinho was wanting to fling 50m at Spurs for Dier when he was at United.

He’ll probably build his midfield around him :giggle1:

I can’t see Mourinho wanting to keep Vic, he likes height in midfield along with a smaller creative player.

5 year ago Wanyama would’ve been the perfect Mourinho DM.

    Injuries have ruined him though.

The fitness levels since br came in has has risen many levels and stayed with lenny , our pressing is key to our counter attacking in europe especially , wanyama is maybe no at that level with lack of games and injury ,could he reach the required level who knows , but he has the ability and like lenny knows how to be in the right place at the right time to stop anything building.

5 year ago he’d be the perfect Mourinho DM :56: so much * talking.

He was absolutely beasting the Premiership and rattling in 40 yarder half volleys that near burst the net against Liverpool literally last year.

What a * signing he’d be, guy is a monster.

Lets be realistic here. Theres no way we could lure Wanyama back to us on a permanent basis. Maybe a year's loan at best. When he's started getting those kind of wages like he'd have been getting at Spurs...there's no way he's gonna accept going back the way and taking a massive pay cut to sign for us. We could maybe manage some kind of loan deal where Spurs would pay some of his wages and we'd make up the difference. But thats it. He wouldnt come back on a permanant deal

Most are expecting a loan but his contract will be up in 1.5 years. Truth is some players will take a pay cut. He would still be well paid and he could look at Fraser and see how he got a heroes welcome. No doubt it will prove a difficulty but doesn't rule it out.

Do we really need him in January?
Nicham Tam and Bitton cannot get in first choice starting 11.

If, at the end of the season, when he has a year left on his contract, we were to tempt him with a 4 year deal, on our top rate, would likely appeal to him-and we would have Browns replacement.
What is our top rate, 35K????
Guessing he would be on 45K at Spurs???

He’s on 65k at the moment. I do agree he would be a great replacement for Brown but yeah not sure we need him in January. Him in would just mean pushing out McGregor.

I would imagine if brought back, he would be competing with Brown for a place, as opposed to Mcgregor.

in any case, it would require sanctioning from Desmond as we would need to break our wage structure unless he accepted a big wage cut.
