Aye. I know Giroud brings other's in to play but Dembele for me is just better..

Mbappe was injured. Lacazette has been injured for month's..

He's the top scorer in the French league and has been smashing it consistently for year's now..

Smacks of proper snobbery..

 

I get the impression he isnt that highly rated in France with no proof whatsoever to back it up.

 

Mbappe was in the latest squad, Griezman, Giroud and Benyedder are all really good forwards. Giroud is awesome for France too, he scores loads and sets them up. It will be tough for Dembele. Eddy may overshadow him if he goes to the Olympics and performs

 

There's no reason why he shouldn't have a call up to his name yet..

Giroud doesn't score loads for them....certainly recently anyway. Dembele is a better player for me at this point...Stronger. Quicker. More clinical..

He was a good foil at the world cup burt didn't score a single goal in winning it..

Mbappe and Griezman aren't out and out number 9's for me. I actually think Griezman is overrated big time..

Ben Yedder is good but again totally different to Dembele..

Dembele is top scorer or was last week and his side are in the bottom half of the table. Was the same at Fulham when he was a teenager. Then here he smashed it..

I can see Dembele and Eddy both in the French squads regularly within 2 to 3 year's..

 

Giroud has 6 goals this year alone for France and is their 3rd all time top goal scorer.

 

I should've checked his qualifying stats this year to be fair. The French did stutter in a few of their game's and the quality of their group was poor...Andorra. Moldova. Albania. Iceland. Turkey..

That's a * easy group with the array of talent they have..

Giroud was a top drawer striker by the way I'm no saying he wasn't...particularly in his earlier Arsenal year's but the Giroud of now is 33 and can't get a game ahead of Abraham and Batshuyai. In his prime he's above both of those but unlike Chelsea, I think the French have much more options...and I include Moussa and Eddy in that..

Eddy could easy play in that side with them creating bundles and he'd have a field day in my opinion, right now..

 

By all means I think Dembele could do a job for France but there are so many options that country has up top. You are having to fight off players who won the World Cup. His chance will come he may just have to wait a bit, if he carries on scoring like this he will either be picked for euros or Olympics where he can shine

 

Dembele will get his chance at some point, and I think it'll be sooner rather than later.

 

Not sure where this belongs but reading the headline on CQN (cannot access the detail) it say we are expecting a windfall for Dembele (again). Anyone able to cover the detail ?
