I know he was only on for 10 minutes, but looked composed and assured.

I think there’s a good technical player in there, just doesn’t seem to have hit it off with us.

Neil Lennon has revealed he wants Nir Bitton tied down on a new deal before the January transfer window opens.

The Israeli’s contract runs out in the summer and the 28-year-old has already been linked with a £1m move to Burnley at the end of the month.

However the manager has reiterated his desire to keep the versatile midfielder, who can also play centre-half.

Bitton has just past 200 appearances for Celtic since signing in 2013 and has won 13 trophies in his time there, but has only started 10 games out of 29 this season.

Lennon said: “We don’t want him to go, we want him to stay. So, talks are on-going.

“Do we want it sorted before January? Yeah. We don’t want him to run down his contract, for sure.

“He’s made indications he would like to stay and that’s what we want too, so we’ll see how that pans out.

Nir’s happy here and we’re hoping we’ll get a positive resolution to that as we go along.”

Get him signed up,good player to have in the squad and can cover a few positions .

Plus he's a cool big dude :34: and would cost us more to replace with similar quality.

I’d keep him he’s done well when called upon, I can’t imagine he’s asking for huge wages either.

Hope we keep him. Good footballer and pretty tough. Don't know why we don't play him more in the Broony role - seems ideal for it and can rest Broony a bit more. Good at CB as well - don't feel nervous at all when he's playing there - he's actually better than a lot of the specialist CBs we've had.

Never going to be first choice, and we always want game changers to come off the bench. But sometimes, it can be about game management, slowing it down, retaining position etc and that's what he brings.

Actually don't see why he couldn't take Broony's position full time eventually (hopefully a while yet). He was being tipped for a move to the EPL before he got injured and seems just as good since he came back. Experienced, cool in posession, can tackle and pass the ball well - what's not to like. His height's a plus as well.

Thought he did brilliant today when he came on...steady and sound , a very easy trait to overlook in that situation we had today

Should be used more often, to give Brown a rest now and again.
