Tournament rules say otherwise. Which is ridiculous.

The concern I'd have is that World Rugby want Japan to qualify... This would gurantee it.

England France and NZ Italy off.

Sounds like our game won't be played at all if there's any damage on Sunday morning. An absolute joke.

I was thinking on those lines. The weather of course looks terrible and the very slightest danger will knock us out.
Well that is Scotland for you, normally we are * at Team sport, but when we do actually do the business we either get knocked out by a none penalty 4 years ago or by the weather this year, hows our luck?

I get how serious the typhoon is, people died in the last one couple of weeks back.

Really poor that games can't just be rescheduled though. Such a lazy cop out.

Agreed that safety comes first, but what's annoying is they claimed to have "robust" contingency measures in place and clearly didn't have any.

I love the way pundits have been saying this World Cup has been brilliant, to me it has been an absolute * farce and getting worse by the day.

The typhoon situation is farcical, particularly as for months they’ve been telling us that there is no room for rescheduling.

If Scotland are to go out this way it’s a disgrace.

    That's a * embarrassing way to manage a world's cup.

Hilarious if this is how it goes. Sets the sport back if it happens, stuck in the Stone Age for a sport that’s came on leaps and bounds in the last few years.

The penalty call against Samoa for the squint feed (which led to Japans bonus point) absolutely stunk (Ref's don't call that without someone whispering in their lug!). Makes me think that they'll take any excuse to cancel Sundays match.

Even golf, with its rules that often don't move with the times, moves Major finishes to a Monday.

    Embarrassing

Obviously the weather is the weather and no one can do anything about it but if there’s literally no contingency plan in place, given that everyone has known about this for days now, there’s no other explanation than there’s bias towards getting Japan through the Group. The country is supposedly hugely advanced, if there’s no safe indoor rugby pitch within a hundred miles I’d be amazed.

Rugby would be tainted forever and would struggle to get away from that.

Safety comes first but this is a shambles. I have a couple of mates following Us and I feel sorry for folk like them, fans who have spent a small fortune on this and its potentially just been a waste of time and money.
The organisers will want the host nation to stay in the tournament as long as possible, as well, so declaring a draw will suit them. I wonder if that would still be the case should a draw have seen Japan go out.
The Japanese, being honorable, should concede the game to Us as this has happened in their country...

Typical this happening though - Our National teams, in football and rugby, have lost out on occasions from goal difference, been undefeated and still somehow not qualified for the latter stages, in the last WC we also got robbed by the referee if I mind rightly as well .. and now it seems like even * has it in for us ffs :giggle1:

Think a lot of neutrals would feel the same.

Can’t help but think if this was even England never mind New Zealand or South Africa or the Aussies that there would be serious pressure from other sources for contingency plans to be made pronto.

Little old Scotland can take what we’re given.

Yes can you just imagine the massive stink that would be made right now if England were in this situation!
