Just as bad as browns handball, a complete brain fart and he knew it. Can't see it happening again.

Ajer will continue to pull and grab players he has been doing it since he was signed it should have been coached out of him but it hasn't when Wanyama was here he was the same but being in midfield you get away with it a bit more. After the penalty award against him Ajer still had his hands on the opposition he gets too close and tries to get to the ball before them with more experience he should learn to read the game better and those mistakes will happen less

Everybody pulls and grabs players. He made a mistake tonight.

I can't think of another time he's been sent off for manhandling players?

He * up. It happens. He's been immense for us. He is still a pup.

I don’t know why we don’t play Jullien as L/CB he can play there, some how feel Jullien and Bolingoli would be more solid on the left and Ajer and Elhamed would compliment each other well on the right..

Just seems a better blend of styles and experience.

Big man had a great game tonight apart from that penalty nonsense. Thankfully he didn’t focus too much on it and completed the rest of the game very strong. It’s out of the way now and didn’t take the shine off whole performance.

Didn’t like him holding onto the Rennes players shirts a lot, seemed like he did it more tonight than usual

Not sent off but he clipped the Motherwell player in the box just 2 weeks ago and got away with it, he's used to being over- physical in the league but in Europe the referee will look for any minimal contact and pull players up for it. Needs to start cutting out the shirt grabs.

Never thought of that before, he has filled in at RB so the experience idea is valid. On the other hand I think we've all accepted he's not prone to such errors, it wasn't a Ramos cynical error I mean the arm shirt and feet, that's an Ajer level of error :notworthy

He's loved because he sees all before him and they bow down before him

Centre backs take some time to develop and their mistakes are easy to spot. Having said that Ajer at 21 will make mistakes but overall I think he has been exceptional.

It was a rare mistake, and he was * at himself for it, so it won't happen again.

He'll learn. Played good. Actually felt confident of saving it aswel. Cheeky stop from the striker tricked him or it was a clear save.

Rush of blood to the head for the pen but consistent as ever otherwise. Still would like to see him play in midfield at some stage.

You always notice with Ajer as soon as he makes a big mistake he wont make it again, proved tonight he has the mental strength to be a top player.

Was just down to inexperience in Europe, he’s going to come up against guys who are stronger and faster than he’s used as well as more ability, he’ll adjust and improve. Still mad to think he’s only 21.

Had a bad one against Renne, was struggling with Niangs strength and pace all night. Good test for him though, he'll bounce back no doubt.

    He's a brilliant player.

Have to say though it's quite simply up there with the most ridiculous pks I've seen, if the ref had awarded 3 penalties I couldn't have complained.

Since he was 16/17, Ronny left us with a class parting gift in Ajer.

Ronny set us up for the treble treble. The eye for a player was extraordinary. He done an admiral job for a young manager brought in to be no.2.
