What a man. Obviously unlucky with the peno but his two saves were great and even anytime the ball was played back to him under pressure he dealt with it well

He had a save in the first he where slapped the ball well out of the danger zone, it was exactly the sort of save Bain or Gordon would have made but they would quite likely not have got it clear from the box and given the opposition an attempt on goal. We've made some good moves in the transfer window this summer but Forster could prove to be our most important signing.

It was some display of strength and quick wit but what has been good about the transfer window is we now have a team where it's getting quite difficult to say who is our favourite and who we'd be happy to see dropped, we've even got great subs.

    Ok, it's Broony.

A couple of good saves tonight, a solid performance. He should give up the Murty moves, though.

Proving to be a top signing..

Let's be honest.....he's a major major upgrade on what we've had.....even if he's slightly regressed down here in England..

Probably speaking for all of us when I say I feel much more comfortable with him in..

It's amazing how strong his fingertips are, that save he had to move quick for, the commentator said it sounded like it hit the post and mind Messi's face when the ref said the ball didn't change direction, how could it have when at most the keeper got a millimetre on it :giggle1:

Really glad we brought this man back. Hope we sign him proper in the summer or before. Still has 5 good seasons at least in him.

What a player. He had no right to even get to that shot, somehow saved it and got us a goal kick :56: magic.

Unless he’s willing to take a massive pay cut and why would he? Forget about a permanent move.

Another years loan could work tho..

Low transfer fee, huge sign on bonus. Better than spanking £4m on potential *.

Has there been any suggestion he wouldn’t take a pay cut?

Forget about ruling out a permanent move. There’s not a chance he comes on loan for another year.

Why would a modern day footballer, probably on his last big pay deal take a pay cut?

Why could another years loan not happen? Could suit all parties..

    Plenty examples of that happening.

He’s been on loan to Celtic 3 times now and he’s a saleable asset for Southampton. It would make no sense for him to come on loan for a 4th time and run down his contract.

First time on loan from Southampton though.

He won’t get a better wage if he moves and he’s contracted to 2022, there’s defo time for another loan before Southampton need to cash in..

    Let’s hope you’re right, for a change tho..:56:

I agree with @PaulM1888 here, it makes sense for all parties for a permanent transfer. Gordon will be off, Southampton won't play him ahead of Gunn or McCarthy and Forster will want game time and has already spoke of his affection for Lenny and Stevie Woods.

Zero risk for us as he's a proven talent. Only barrier I see is if he has a good season for us, other PL teams will start sniffing and offer him a better wage.
