Here was me all pleased with myself seeing my wee rabbit outside the office again this morning!

Wow guys, some of the photos on here are fantastic!

The goldfinch is just beautiful, the robin as cool as ever (our wee regular is out and about again outside the apartment) and those butterflies.

    Great pics everybody

    (The coos are cool too!)

Today's coming and goings. Blackbird and his mate used to be in the garden from morning to night but recently they are only occasional visitors.:55: Same routine each time they come...a good feed on the rowan berries, a long bath and then away.

Been playing Mafia , first chance ive had .

On Friday school run , the lad I drop off last at a farm has been telling me he shows calfs at agricultural shows and that weekend he was going to a trial and if he finished in the top 3 he would go on to represent Scotland in his age group next year . when I got to the farm he asked if I wanted to see his calf , sure !. went to a big barn with pens and he and his granpaw told me these were all show cows , they dont graze in the fields as they dont want them to beef up like other cattle , they get out for a wee wander sometimes but not long and not with the dairy coos . they revert to milk and beef cows when their show days are over . Anyhoo lad takes me over to a pen and a wee calf ( brown and white ) goes straight up to him , got a wee rope halter on it has to get used to . now I dont know anything about coos except they taste good … sorry , but this thing looked straight out a Disney cartoon , huge doe eyes an im sure it was smiling . it had just been clipped by the vet and shampooed . ill let you know how he got on on Wednesday .

One of my favourites too, Johnie. Loved having a pair in the garden all summer. They used to follow me about the garden, especially if I were digging or watering plants. Real soft spot for them.

I love calves. There's something about their big soft eyes. I was walking in the Sperrins (Tyrone side) a couple of weeks ago and got chatting to a farmer. (Didn't tell him I was from Derry). I asked him if he had any calves and he took me into his shed and there were two wee beauties. They were gorgeous. Could've taken them home...if they weren't from Tyrone. :56: Looking forward to your pictures, Scotia.

Over my local patch this morning 70 Pink Footed Geese flew overhead with their lovely call adding to the superb Autumn atmosphere.
Conditions for Migrants tomorrow are outstanding so hopefully a couple of crackers to report about tomorrow.

If anybody,s interested the young lad finished first in his age group ( 13/14 ish ) so he will represent Scotland next year at the British Championships in Peterborough . He said the wee calf done great after calming down and got a commendation from the judges . His other calf ( too old for competition got best in breed , forgot to mention its in with the wee one to keep it company) . Picture will be ok he said so I will get a camera and get one tomorrow .

Saw the wee robin perched on the fence twice today looking up at the tree , summer over so I will fill the seeders and hang the fat balls up , need to restock the supplies as well . gulls are gone now the young have left , peace and quiet at last .

My squirrel proof nut feeders seem to have done enough to put them off so not having to fill it as often, saw my first pied wagtail on Sunday at work :)

Does that mean you've never seen a wagtail before? or the first time you've seen one at work? :43::52:
