    This...

Of course i want an away win, but Rennes are a really good, but underrated team.

I'm sure if they were playing in the scottish league they would hump everyone, appart from us that is.
I'm not so sure i could say the same of Celtic if we were playing in the French league.

So yeah, i'd take a scoring draw right now.
But me being a greed bastit when it comes to celtic results, i'm sure i'll be disappointed if we only get the draw.

They have beaten PSG at home this season and sit 2nd in the table, however only 1 point from the last 2 games. Only 6 goals this season. So current form is not great but they obviously can be dangerous. Not big scorers however so if the defence are set up well we should be fine

Totally agree, and I think Ntchams driving runs and range of passing is going to be crucial away from home in Europe.

RENNES star man Mbaye Niang is a major doubt for their opening Europa League clash with Celtic this week in what could be a huge boost for the Hoops.

The £15 million former AC Milan striker was Rennes’ marquee signing this summer after impressing on a season-long loan from Torino last term.

But he missed their weekend Ligue 1 derby goalless draw with Brest with a knee injury.

And Rennes boss Julien Stephan has confirmed the 24-year-old Senegal international is a major doubt for their opening game against Neil Lennon’s Celts on Thursday.

He said: “Mbaye got a blow to his knee on training this week and that was enough to keep him out of the game.

“As for Celtic, it’s just a case of monitoring him on a day-to-day basis to see if he has a chance of being fit for the match this week.”

Rennes are already definitely without fellow striker Metehan Guclu, who is out after an ankle operation and central defender Gerzino Nyamsi broke a finger and will be out for two weeks.

Glad Niang is out, not only is he strong and fast but he can finish as well. Didn't know he was at Rennes now though, 7 professional clubs and he's only 24 :giggle1:

It's a great game for us. Rennes i hope we can turn over in good style and top the group.

A lot of confidence in here. I think this is one pretty tough game.

However, having said that, I'd be bold and go for the win. That's our strength at the moment.Worth it imo as we'd we strong favs to qualify if we did. The positives from a good result would be massive.

Massive opportunity to pick up valuable points on the road. A game we probably aren't expected to get anything out of but I'm optimistic ..

They haven't won in 3 weeks.

Nonetheless they've made a good start overall to the season and away in Europe you can never be too confident.

No reason to fear them at the same time, however.

They had a decent start to the season, beating PSG 2-1 in the process! Lost a couple weeks back, then drew 0-0 with Brest yesterday! Decent side ane will be a tough game! Would take a draw out of this! But lets go all out
