    Evening troops.

Need a new pair of 5s boots and also running trainers, and was looking for folks thoughts on both.

Biggest issue is getting blisters/ skin coming off when using them for an hour plus at a time.

Running is mainly inside, so on a hard, flat surface.

5s boots, I’m easy re: mouldies or blades.

No idea where to start really! Apparently there’s somewhere in Glasgow that’ll measure you for running trainers cause it depends on the shape of your foot - but not sure if that’s overkill for the gym (mainly)...and they’d be expensive I imagine.

Any help would be much appreciated!

I recommend Nike for both anyway, always find them far more comfortable and tend to be less likely to get blisters with them.

Greaves and I think DW will measure your feet for running trainers.

I've got under armour running shoes I bought off very for like 50-60 quid and they're decent but you can probably get cheaper ones. I've got Nike Premier football boots and they're comfy with good solid leather and that. Guess it's just personal preference alot of it.

Don’t know anything about running shoes but my preference for football boots is plain black and white Puma King classics.

Need a new pair actually I’m bursting through my current pair. If I ever manage to get a game again!

Cheers folks. I’ve got Adidas boots just now but it’s the * mouldies - ideal for jumping straight in the car after, but might switch back to blades. Just need to wear an extra pair of socks I guess! Someone suggested rubbing Vaseline over your socks before putting your boots on...anyone tried this before?

Re: running shoes, I’ve got a pair of Nike trainers. They’re fine unless I’m running >20 mins, then the soles of trainers feel like they’re starting to burn into my skin! I am falling to bits right enough, so no surprise even my * gutties are turning against me

I went to a running shop in Giffnock and they set me up on that treadmill to do that running gait thing, can't even remember which way my feet went but they sorted me out with a pair of sauchony? Made an instant difference it was like running on clouds.

Set me back just over £100 iirc so isn't that much difference from usual gutties.

Aye I know normal sports shop measure you size wise, but certain shoes suit different people depending on the actual shape etc (as you’ve said!).

That’s a good shout. Apparently there’s somewhere in the west end that can do it too but I’m no that close to either!

    Copa mundials and Nike Air.
Copas are like slippers and don't need broke in, soft leather that will last.
Both my physio and chiropractor say that Nike Air are the best thing to walk and run in, especially if you have a bad gait and sketchers are the worst.

My problem with 5s boots is blisters - will these boots help? Or is it just one of those things that can’t be avoided?
