He's the man to play broonies role. Play him in front of jozo and jullien bcoz he's being wasted as a centrehalf. He has so much more to offer further forward.

Needs to be moved to cm if we don't sign anyone, we are really missing a ball winner and physical presence in midfield at the moment.

What he needs to do is stay where he is and continue developing like he is.

Ideally beside a more experienced 7 million quid centre half :87:

No too sure about the midfield role for Ajer. Boss type CB's are what you build a team around

He was a 6 foot 5 beanpole centre mid aye and he’s now been on a completely different, separate, path since going out to Killie on loan.

Rodgers moved him back to CB because he felt he was better suited. He then went out on loan and played CB for Killie

Yes but for me he has better value as sweeper style CB who can carry the ball out. Regardless, i see a very bright future for the lad regardless of position.

Celtic are set to open contract talks with Kristoffer Ajer in a bid to tie down one of the club’s the top talents.

The Norwegian defender is one of five "untouchables" Neil Lennon has insisted is not for sale.

Now Celtic are looking to diminish the disappointment of their Champions League failure by getting one of their rising stars on a longer-term deal.

The 21-year-old was linked with AC Milan earlier this month and Lennon has made it clear he wants to keep him at Parkhead.

Ajer, who was also tentatively linked with former boss Brendan Rodgers at Leicester City, signed a four-year deal last summer.

But he will be offered another enhanced contract to fend off interest and to keep him happy.

Ajer has blossomed into one of Celtic’s top defenders and has also become a regular in the Norwegian national side.

Celtic are aware of the growing interest in Ajer but see him as a long-term pillar in their side, while they are aware there could be more interest with the European transfer windows not set to close until the end of the month.

Ajer came in from IK Start in 2016 by former boss Ronny Deila.

You know this is setting wheels in motion to get best possible transfer fee next summer if he's tied down to a long term deal......

New contract being Lined up then, Pretty much Stating the Club did not insert a buy out clause in his last Contract.
So looking like the big man will be moving on if he continues to perform the way he’s been it may be next summer hopefully not but his fee will cover our losses for dropping into the Europa next season a suppose. The buyout fee should be no Less than £20m.

I’ve been thinking that Is the way that Tadger Lawwell is Taking us absolute shambles. Sell developed promising players for say £20m or thereabouts to cover the cost of the Loss of Champions league Football so Ajer falls into that category along with CalMac Etc. Drop into the Europa league and hope to be in the competition after Christmas Giving us 4 guaranteed Home ties tickets etc and sell it to the fans , I covered this in another thread and it’s simply NOT GOOD ENOUGH and quite alarming if that’s the vision the board have.

New contract will no doubt include a promise to sell if certain teams come in for him
