    Aw for * sake

No real harm to the lad, always comes across as a good lad etc, but why do we insist on hiring ex players/fans with heehaw experience?

Great to see all the super analysts on here ffs.

John Barnes was a far superior player to Jock Stein BTW.

    Jobs for the boys.

Why we need a DOF from outside who’ll actually put an effort into building the club.

DARREN O’DEA has left his coaching role at Motherwell as he nears a return to Celtic.

The Irishman announced on Twitter that he has left his position as under-18 coach at the club.

And it is understood that he is now closing in on a move to the Hoops.

SunSport exclusively revealed that O’Dea was in talks with the Celts last month.

And he posted his thanks to Motherwell after his final day with the Steelmen.

He wrote: “Yesterday was my last day @MotherwellFC.

“I want to say thanks to Alan, the Manager and all the staff and players. A top club with phenomenal people.

It was a brilliant experience and one I enjoyed every minute of. I wish you nothing but good things ”

Celtic have a vacancy on their coaching staff following Damien Duff’s move from reserve coach to the first team.

O’Dea, 32, is the man they want to fill it and the former Celts defender is expected to make the switch.

The former defender started his career with Celtic and spent seven years at the club – playing Champions League football under Gordon Strachan.

He then had spells in England, Canada, Ukraine and India before returning to Scotland with Dundee

O’Dea quit Dens in the summer to join Well’s backroom team – but is now set to to leave Fir Park.

The Irishman is highly rated at Celtic and is set to be given the chance to help bring through the club’s best youngsters

CELTIC Football Club is delighted to announce a new appointment within its youth set-up, with former Celtic player Darren O’Dea joining the club as under-18s’ manager.

The Former Republic of Ireland international defender re-joins Celtic from Motherwell where he was part of the academy coaching staff.

Darren O’Dea enjoyed a huge level of success at Celtic as a player, lifting two league titles, a Scottish Cup and League Cup.

The appointment will also see current Celtic under-18s’ coach, Stephen McManus stepping up to the position of Reserve team coach, working alongside manager, Tommy McIntyre

Why are these guys even given a coaching role here?

McManus gets a promotion as well.
