So say we sign Taylor from Killie hypothetically he could be 1st choice as he’s better than Boli

How do you rate Skjelvik? I think he's a LB as well?

    Aye mate, you're absolutely right.

Greg Taylor would automatically come in for a cupla hundred thousand and instantly be better than Bolingoli.

Disagree. Just because we spent 3m doesnt mean he should be first choice.

I think he will come good but certainly needs time to find his feet and get his confidence up. We cannot rely on him for now.

So does anyone else who comes in.

My point being is people want us to spend money and bring in a LB. We have already done that this season, and this guy has played every game so far, despite him being less than impressive the last game, he's impressed in previous games.

We need a more defensively sound option at left-back, regardless of how Bolingoli fits in. We don't need to spend a lot of money though. Elhamed, on the right, looks ideal, and I had serious reservations about him. Another player like that would do.

    I don't disagree with that.

Them lot along the road are going to be overly-attacking (as proven by the amount speed merchant wingers they are signing).

Lennon needs hard * in defence to null that particular threat.

I always think it's dangerous to be looking at back up options for positions. We need healthy competition to get the best of players.

Just because we spent £3 million on Boli shouldn't have him under illusions that he's our 1st choice LB, that right has to be earned through performances. Both Kouassi and Ntcham were signed for similar fees and aren't automatic picks. In his admittedly fleeting appearances so far Boli has looked miles off it.

We should be looking another LB (and RB for that matter) with a good pedigree that will come in and challenge for a place. Not just cheap options that are happy to come in and sit behind Boli and Elhamed.

The club has the finances to do it but do the custodians have the ambition to? Or are we going to continue to hoard a stack of cash while expecting cheap imports to make a dent in Europe?

Boli was brought in to compete with KT and provide back up. Lennon said as much..
With the loss of KT, we need a quality replacement.

Back up/competition, whatever word you want to use.

Boli was brought in to compete with KT yes, but KT has gone, therefore Boli is the most settled in LB we have, so as far as things are just now then he's our no.1 LB. If/when we bring in a player, he will need to settle into his new surroundings wheras Boli will still be more integrated than he until such times as he gets a shot at LB position, if he does at all.

Play 3 at the back with him as a wing back could be a better option for Boli seems to suit that role more

Only by virtue of being our only LB

Boli might well come onto a game, he has a decent engine and his former club spoke glowingly about him but I would not be confident going into our more difficult domestic away fixtures or in Europe with him in there. Cluj players were going by him at will.

Think they're all far too old in terms of our recruitment strategy tbh, Olsson I've always liked but just can't see us signing a 30+ year old at fullback, considering most of those guys would want a decent wage as well - which is maybe why they're free agents.

Boli was brought in with the club pretty sure Tierney was going. Any words said was to calm fans and the media and also not to give the impression they wanted to sell.
