Neil Lennon is ready to splash a chunk of the £25million banked from Kieran Tierney.

And the Celtic manager has revealed he may have as many as five more new players in his sights as the champions look to reinvest the riches they have secured by the sale of their prized asset to Arsenal.

Tierney has completed his switch to London on a bumper five-year contract.

The 22-year-old joined the English Premier League giants after the long-running transfer saga was finally concluded just prior to the close of the transfer window south of the border.

Lennon was hopeful that Tierney would stay, but the manager understands the huge opportunity which the Scotland has been handed and is now intent on finding the suitable replacement and adding more quality elsewhere in his squad.

Asked whether he’d ask for all the cash, Lennon joked: “Yeah. I’ll be standing with my hands out!”

But on a serious note, the Celtic boss then confirmed he wants a strong ending to the market and continued: “We’ll look to bring another left-back in, no question.

“A right back as well. And a left winger. And a right winger. And maybe a centre forward.”

Lennon hailed the left-back after his deal to North London was confirmed.

He said: “This is an opportunity Kieran wanted to take and while we will be sad to see him leave the club, we wish Kieran all the very best for the future.

“Although he is still a young guy, Kieran has given the club so much. He’s a great lad and I’ve really enjoyed working with him. I’m sure he will continue to progress and develop and make a big impact in the English Premier League.

“It has obviously been a long process, but now it has been finalised we can now look ahead and concentrate on continuing to build our own squad and meet the many challenges ahead, domestically and in Europe."

Odd that he wants another RW. Literally the last position we need.

That sounds very positive. A left back, a right back, a left winger, a right winger and a centre forward? Sounds like a wild post on a talkceltic thread.

Lets see. We have heard so much this window already. I wanna see actions as of now.
By the way, why a RW? We have Forest and Shved there.

Two more wingers, * is he playing at, is he trying to outdo they absolute roasters over the water who have 400 wingers.

    Full backs fair enough.

He needs a DM as Bitton is not a ball winner neither is CM.

I hope he not going to start shunting out anything to do with BR, far too many players for that.

Sure be totally different statement next week.

Working away on 2 or 3 deals but if they don't happen I'm happy with the squad I've got

Wants a RW and a striker.

Looks like it’ll be Brown playing every week...

Might be thinking of shifting James into number 10 at times. But I hope Lenny gets everything he’s wanting because we need it.

With the wingers comments there must be some more going out the door.

    Forrest
    Shved
    Morgan
    Arzani
    Hayes
    Sinclair
    Johnston

Could be a few leaving out of that though tbh.

Could maybe move Shved into the 10 role

For those who are in love.....
A lot of promising word's there..

Deffo surprised he didn't mention anyone for the central midfield/10 though especially after talking about it and our well documented pursuit of Turnbull and Sawyers..

Think you're right mate. May see us trying Forrest in the 10 more, or Shved. Personally I'd prefer we just brought a good one in instead of possibly moving one of our best player's out of position..

Reports and his word's there sound like left back is the very next position and probably close/done to be announced..

5 sounds a lot at this point. If we can get 5 more bodies in then we're doing really well if even just 3 of those are a success. A left back and we're instantly a better side. A left winger and a striker and we're seriously stronger than last season in my opinion..

Mikey can also play the 10 if we get an adequate left winger in..

Arzani can play both side's so there is versatility and plenty of it going forward when all fit..

I deffo still think we could be doing with another centre mid though..

Definitely comes across as if he was told he was getting no more money to spend if KT stayed. Now that he's gone all of a sudden we are going all guns blazing for 5 new signings. I would be very pleased if we reinvest 15-20m of the fee received.

On what planet do we need a right winger?

If you ask supporters if you look at the 10. This season and next. What positions need filled to complete the job.

    • Goalkeeper - Gordon should be replaced this season just purely on the basis I'm not convinced in Bain as number 1
    • Right back - the new signing impressed me so far.. But we need another
    • Left back - it's number 1 priory in the team now
    • We need another centre half. Bitton is 4th choice at the minute but we need another especially with Jozo injury record. Ideally someone to challenge Ajer and Jullien
    • We could do with a defensive midfielder in the mould of Wanyama
    • Left winger/creative player - would love someone to fill that number 7 jersey
    • Striker - Bayo is an unknown quantity and still have good hopes but feel we need another. Especially because we will get interest in French Eddie in the summer
That's 7 players. If Lenny could secure 4 or 5 of them it's a successful window.

And if he's able to secure that we could even move 4 or 5 players on either permanently or on loan

If we where signing 5 I would take

    Left back
    Right back
    Centre back
    Centre mid
    Centre forward

    In that order!

Think we’re a bit light at CB.

Ajer, Jullien, Jozo, Bitton, Elhamed, Hendry

Jozo - Can’t play on plastic. Prone to injury.
    Elhamed - playing RB.
Bitton - a midfielder by trade.
    Hendry - surplus.
