Just read a report on "Celts Are Here" that we have a 15 year old called Charlie Allen from Linfield on trial with the Development Squad.

Celtic are ready to hijack Tottenham’s bid to sign Northern Ireland teenage sensation Charlie Allen, Football Insider has learned.

The Scottish giants are among the top-level clubs keeping close tabs on the attacking midfielder, 15, following his astonishing rise at Irish club Linfield.

A Celtic source has told Football Insider the club want to invite Allen to their training headquarters and make him an offer to move north rather than south of the border.

This comes after Football Insider revealed that Allen has headed to Tottenham to undergo a trial with a view to signing him.

Spurs have climbed into pole position for the signature of the rising star, who is also attracted interest from Liverpool, Manchester United, Manchester City and Leicester.

Celtic believe they can show Allen a clear pathway from their youth team set-up to their senior side, something that is not quite so obvious at the Premier League elite.

The teenager is on the radar of so many leading clubs as a result of the progress that has led to him being described by Linfield Academy director Glenn Ferguson as “one of the brightest prospects” he has seen.

Allen became Linfield’s youngest-ever debutant when he made his first-team bow in their final game of last season at Coleraine in April.

The Irish club, who competed in Champions League qualifiers this month, are resigned to losing their prize asset in the near future given the offers that are expected to be submitted for him

Alloa Athletic are set to sign Robbie Deas on a development loan from Celtic.

Wasps boss Peter Grant has returned to his former club to land the Scotland under-19 cap.

Deas had a successful loan at Cowdenbeath last season and is now going to get the chance to step up and play in the Championship.

The 19-year-old will continue to train at Lennoxtown with Celtic and will then join Alloa for training and games.

Grant is also set to hand a sign former Cowdenbeath defender Blair Malcolm.

The left-back, who had been training with Falkirk, has been handed a year-long deal.

The 22-year-old has previously had spells at Partick Thistle and Ross County.

Grant hopes to have both deals completed so the pair can go into his squad for tomorrow’s Championship game with Alloa Athletic.

Pity to lose Morrison obviously but as said before it's a positive sign of our Developing techniques and strategy. Like Bayern (and others) we're not just relying on home grown players but strengthening as much as possible with promising talent. Points to a good scouting system too.

Great to see what we have to offer is being appreciated by youngsters being offered deals with the Super Massives. Must take a lot of guts to choose us considering how influential we are as teenagers and being drawn to the bright lights etc.

Congrats Vincent Angelini on your dream coming true, a name like that is destined for glory especially with those legendary Celtic genes.

He will know an awful lot more about football than the average player never mind teenager, how amazing it must be your granpa being a Celtic legend. Especially Davie Hay, there'll be few folk who know more about the game than him.
